Game Changing Information!
I bought this book months ago and like many others, it found its way to a pile of books I like to call "I'll read them eventually". Yesterday was eventually. A simple read, finished it in one sitting and came away with mountains of info that will save me thousands and even get me money back on previous years taxes. Great info on tax investing strategies as well, well worth the purchase price, and I can't wait to write it off!!

semi-useful
I did learn a little more from this book than I knew previously. I expected more solid information. I was a little disappointed by the surface information approach to this book. Still a good read.

BUY THIS BOOK
I got started reading this book and it was so full of good information that I couldn't put it down. It was so helpful and I've been back through the book a few more times since. And it's a write off so what are you waiting for?!

Straight forward tax help for a new small business
I liked that the book was very straight forward and offered templates as a bonus as a book purchaser. Great material for a new small business owner, direct sales business owner or similar. Thank you for providing honest and organized tax information!

Scam book
It contains the minimum useful information ever. There are few pages out of 178 listing potential business expenses and reasons for including or not to your actual ones. Most of the book, the author repeats trivial things: be prepared for audit, be accurate, kepp your records. And saying this in each and every chapter and illustrating mostly by the only personal story of audit is the book.I am feeling being fooled after reading the book. Totally disappointed how could it be a bestseller in the section.I would put 0 stars if possible.

A must for the experienced or newcomer to a home-based business!
Whether you are contemplating starting a home-based business or already have one, and whether or not this is a side-hustle or your full time gig, this book will improve your home-based business tax deduction IQ from day 1. Our home-based business journey began in June 2020 as a concept. The business name was registered in January 2021 and throughout the remainder of the 2021 there has been much dedication to preparing for our official launch in 2022. I have spent months researching tax deductions and side hustle revenue implications. If you have also researched this or even scratched the surface…this is what you have discovered; 1). There is a significant amount of conflicting information on how to strategically approach home-based business tax deductions. 2). There are an unlimited amount of tax experts who have limited to no direct experience with home-based business tax deductions. 3) You do not realize the financial opportunities your government provides you when it comes to tax deductions. Doug Collins breaks down your tax deduction opportunities in a reader friendly, non-accountant terminology, non-legalese way which will instantly shift your strategy and mindset. Your home-based business may be unique – and that’s a good thing! Doug’s approach is also unique – and that’s more money in your pocket. My only regret is that I did not discover his book earlier in my home-based business journey. I have read the lower ratings this book has received and although they are in the minority – I simply could not disagree more. Doug clearly explains this book is not a “how-to” do your taxes. This is a strategic level approach to how you should be managing your tax deductions all year long and why you should avoid waiting for the infamous tax season crunch. Your personal experience will be your personal circumstance. In year one of our start-up I went from thinking I would be eligible to submit $3,000 in deductions to almost $6,000 in deductions (and I am not finished number crunching yet). Spoiler alert – the purchase of his book is tax deductible. Thanks Doug!

Great book for work from home businesses
I found this book had a lot of easy to read, actionable advice for getting the most advantage you can at tax time. The book is certainly repetitive, but I found that it really reinforced the information provided.

This Is The Home-based Tax Book Y'all!
I bought this book because I needed to learn more about taxes. It definitely did the job, but I got something even more valuable, I learnt about small business, too. The types of business and their benefits. Overall, why starting a business at home is the way to go. As a person who has tried different entrepreneurial projects, he is right. The only succesful service business I had was from home. There is just a peace of mind that comes with not worrying about paying rent for a commercial space. Plus, if done right, you get to write off your home expenses, too. Just genius. Great book. I recommend it.

Spend on this book, save on taxes
Excellent book for business for self people. I found a few things I was unaware of and strategies to save. The only thing missing are correlations between the book category titles and the options on the CRA. I found myself still guessing.

Every entrepreneur who has a side hustle needs this book
Well I’m like most people, taxes are not fun nor do I enjoy learning about them. But this book was recommended by a colleague of mine and wow oh wow! I wish I had a book like this 20 years ago!! This book is an easy read and Doug makes reading about taxes not so dry. Spend the money on this book, read it, make notes and share it with every biz friend you know. The government already takes enough $ from us! Thank you Doug for sharing your wisdom and knowledge with us!
