We use the Fatwood with our wood burning stove. It’s purpose to be a fire STARTER, with using a few sticks to get things going. For that reason it is not like a log that would pop and crackle.

Q: Is this fatwood fumigated?

Not sure what you're asking? However it does not have an odor. I have a small bucket inside and no problem. For some background, I'm very allergic to perfumes and the Fatwood sticks do not bother me.
