Well made and good value.
I’m not a scientist or a nuclear physicist but I do like to examine owl pellets in my spare time! These are ideal for that. Arrived safely and well packaged. Certainly good enough for what I require them for. Good value and prompt delivery. If you are after some fuss free Petri dishes then I can recommend these.

Doesn't close but has a reason why.
The media could not be loaded. They don't close all the way, they are so loose, would have been nice to have option to screw on to close them. I'm using it to put some fungal nail clippings in it and to find real cures for toenail fungus myself, since I'm plagued with it for the last 10 years, the world isn't doing anything about it, so it's down to me, scientist extraordinaire! I'm not worried if they aren't sterile I have equipment that can destroy viruses and bacteria via enhanced UV light. I guess you can also use these to store some things in them, but without a proper closure it limits the use. Will have to use adhesive tape to keep it closed. The lid stops additional unwanted bacteria in the air contaminating the plate. Do not fully seal the lid, as this will stop oxygen reaching the bacterium, and this my encourage harmful anerobic bacteria to grow. Surely there is a way to have it screw on but not leave it air tight.

seem well enough made
Arrived packed as per their information and arrived intact; no breakages.Vendor also contacted me directly to advise how best to cleanse sterilise - if the latter needed. Rare for such spontaneous after customer service sales info.; so top marks there. For my purposes they are ideal although if the pennies would allow I'd prefer glass of course; they can be sterilised in very hot water, probably a microwave too...?Can see other uses for them besides the presumed biological etc.; seed germination being one, and small parts containers of disassembling electronic items which frequently have a host small screws and the like.

Not re usable unless you own a UV light
I was a bit misled by the customer review that describes this product as sterilisable.Upon asking the seller I found out the only way to sterilise these plates is through the use of a UV light. Like most users I do not own such a device, as such I wouldn’t describe these Petri dishes as re usable.

Yes - they are good for storing beads, trinkets, loose change, pins etc
Not just for growing mould. These dishes are good little containers that have a lot of other uses.Ideal for desk, worktop, dressing table for storing pins, loose change, hair bands, seed beads etc etc.The lids are loose not fixed tight so quick to access the contents without having to unscrew a lid. Ideal for worktable tops for jewelry making to keep findings in for easy quick access or pins for dressmaking etc.On a desk or in a draw for loose change or a dressing table for hair clips and bands or jewelry. They have a variety of uses and because they're clear plastic you can immediately see what's inside.Because the lids are loose they do come off easily so maybe not suitable for storing in places where they can fall or tip their contents outI'm using them as bead containers for my seed beads and jewelry findings like crimps, clamps, lobster clips and o rings. I have secured them with a band so the lids won't come off when they're stored but they're ideal for easy access when I'm making jewelry and I can see instantly what is in them. They're lightweight with smooth finished edges. Good qualityI'm giving these dishes 5* because they're ideal for what I need to use them for even though they're not intended for that. They have a multitude of uses and better value than I've found elsewhere

Good for storage
I got these to use in my craft shed to save me some space as they can be stacked neatly in a small area. I was originally going to use them to store glitters in, but the lids don't sit tightly so I had to have a rethink. The dishes themselves are thick enough, well packaged with no damage or scratches and sealed so they will be sterile. If you are going to use them for proper experiments, I'm not sure how good they'd be with the loose fitting lid? (I don't do science so it may not be an issue)I will now be using them for storing my cabochons for my crafts and they hold a surprising amount - they are about the size of coasters so you fit plenty in them.
