Make sure you take note of recommended age before purchasing.
This was not quite what I expected, but it is still a nice product. I thought it was a simple transforming dinosaur / car toy in the mould of transformers, but it is actually a model kit with quite a bit to put together and thus is more suited for older children (teens) and adults. I can now see that it has a recommended age of 15 plus, so probably should have checked that first! You get a basic chassis and several plastic trees of small parts. Also included are water slide decals, not stickers. Luckily I am familiar with applying decals such as these from my customisation of Lego mini figures, but they can be tricky to apply and line up correctly if you aren’t familiar with them. I’d recommend watching some YouTube tutorials on applying decals before attempting as there are a few things you might need to know or have to hand to make the job easier (e.g. some tweezers).Once assembled and decaled you get a sleek looking race car that can transform into a raptor like dinosaur. The car has a cockpit that opens and even has a little Dino driver (who has some limited articulation). In Dino mode, you have quite a lot of movement options in the legs, neck, tail and arms which make for some nice positioning. When in car mode, a certain few parts can also be removed to make a small drone aircraft.Overall, this is a nice model kit, but I wonder about the target market. Personally, if I was an adult or teen looking for a model kit to make I’d prefer something more realistic or maybe film based - this robo dino / car would clearly appeal to my near 5 year old who likes transformers and mechs, but age wise he is nowhere near doing a model kit and the resulting build would be too fiddly for him.
