Great case with a good price
Works great, love the feature to hold the button for 3 seconds before shut down, it prevents accidentally turning off the drive. The data transfer/ power light is perfect, its not so bright that it lights up the room like another enclosure I had. Very good case, would definitely recommend.

Very good external hard drive enclosure, easy to use, fair price, good value
Very good external hard drive enclosure, easy to use, fair price, good value.I had a nice internal hard drive that I was never able to use with any of my desktop computers, and needed a good hard drive enclosure to be able to use this device externally.I found this item on Amazon, and it fit perfectly, and works great.Reasonably priced, good value. The only complication was that the drive needed to be partitioned, but the device came with an instruction pamphlet that anticipated that situation, and gave clear steps as to how to resolve it.Good unit, glad I purchased it.

So Far So Good
I bought this item to convert the information of a hard drive of an older computer and to import it to my new PC. Not an overly techie person, but still competent, I found this very easy to use and rather interesting. You pretty much just pop in your SD or HD, plug the device in to the current PC you are using and there you go. I read somewhere these are great to have on hand to access older info and things you don’t want to move or store on a new PC or external HD. This product seems to work well, but its construction and weight of it does seem rather flimsy/light weight. So as far as durability goes only time will tell, but I’m glad I bought it.

Works just like any external drive. What more can be said?
All the connectors feel solid enough that I'm confident it would last a long time, even if it is moved around a lot. The only exception might be the internal SATA connector. It doesn't have much vertical support so it can be moved up and down a bit, but I don't know if it's directly soldered to the circuit board, or if it has a cable. If it does have a cable then the freedom of movement won't affect durability. In fact it may improve durability in some ways if someone got too aggressive inserting or removing a drive.3.5 inch hard drives can be screwed in via the matching screw holes in the bottom of the case. In fact, they even included screws for that purpose. :) You can also plug in a laptop hard drive, or an SSD into the connector, and electrically it will work just fine. However, there's no physical support inside nor does it lay flat on the case bottom, so it will be supported entirely by the SATA connector. This is fine for temporary use, like if your laptop's mainboard or screen burned out and you're trying to rescue the hard drive, but moving the setup while it's connected that way probably isn't good for it. Also, if you're going to be switching drives on a daily basis, a toaster-style docking station or a hot swap bay enclosure will probably last longer. But for my occasional usage as an individual, it will work fine.I can't really comment on electrical reliability since I've only had it a month, but I may update the review at a later date, stating whether it still works or not.Edit to add: I did discover one issue with the device, I could not get it to work through the powered J5 Create USB hub that is on my desk by the monitor: I had to plug the enclosure directly into the computer itself before my computer would see it. I don't know if that's an issue with the enclosure itself, the hub or compatibility between the two. So, if it doesn't seem to work, try it directly on your computer before you return it. I'll check if J5 create has a driver for the hub that improves compatibility. I don't know which product is to blame, so I won't knock a star off. I did look on RSHTECH's website to see if they had a driver that improves compatibility, but they do not.

Works with XP drive, Love the screws for security
Sleek, solid, works great. I am using this to recover data from an old computer running Windows XP that died many years ago. I was worried about compatibility with my current computers running Windows 7 and 10, but it works great with no issues. It comes with a small screwdriver with 5 screws (incl 1 spare) to secure the drive to the enclosure from the bottom of the case. I think this is much better than the ones that come with pieces of foam to stick between your drive and the case to hold it in place. You plug the drive in, screw it in, then slide the cover on. Super simple and secure. It also came with a very clear instruction leaflet (in English, I'm in the US) that includes all the product specs and how to install, format, and remove the drive from both Windows and Mac systems, along with troubleshooting info (see pictures of packaging and contents). Very happy with the product and the extra effort to make it a good one.

Easy to Set Up, Easy to Use
This case could not be easier to use. Place your HD on the tray, screw it in with the four supplied screws, slip the cover on, plug it in and presto. Time from unboxing to plugging it in was about 2 minutes, max. This is well made with quality plastic and will last at least the life of the hard drive.
