Toilet Seat Hinges for Wooden Seats - Chrome Metal

Far better quality hinges than the ones that came with the wooden loo seat I bought here on Zon last year. Fitting them was a little trickier than I was hoping due to the fixing holes not matching the ones already drilled into the seat and lids wood, but once they were fitted these perform far better. What I found of note was that unlike the previous hinges the bases of these are capable of being turned 360° meaning the actual seat can be better positioned in relation to the bowl. Then once the desired or optimal placement has been established its a very simple job of quickly doing up the two screws on the undersides of the two bases to secure them from swiveling. Once that's done it's simple and straightforward of course to then secure the whole assembly, including the seat and lid to the bowl itself. Very pleased, thank you.

Item delivered very quickly. There are no instructions provided. There are no screws to fit the hinges to the wooden seat and lid per se. Only two headless 8mm screws with metal wing nuts to attach seat to the pedestal of the loo whch, can be attached via 2 positions, as per the base of the hinge to porcelain.Pleased to note contents same as described and pictured.The old hinge on our very recently purchased wooden seat was plastic. As the replacement headless screw and wing nut are metal, this means that the seat fitting will be stable, robust and not move. The metal fittings are superior in quality to plastic hinges, which, break and become loose.Notwithstanding, having easily attached the hinges to the wooden seat (with screws that we had in toolbox), it was obvious that the two headless screws were faulty. The threading was so inferior screw nut could not screw on past the first cm or so on one screw. Not screw on at all on the other.Heartily fed up of having various items, from various retailers, for small amounts (of under £5) having to be written off (as amounts soon mount up), we resignedly emailed Home Store late Saturday morning. Amazingly, we received a reply later that same evening. Clarified again what fault was.Email received again from the Home Store again early the following Monday morning apologizing and stating that a replacement had been sent. This arrived the following day Tuesday!!Have now attached the seat, as both screws are now perfect. Seat a perfect sturdy fit too.Delighted and astounded as proves that there are some companies that will comply with what they are contracted to provide as. these things sometimes happen but, to make amends so swiftly and with no procrastination or hesitation well…..frankly we are delighted. Collating a large order to use this company again. Loo seat fits perfectly. The throne and our faith are restored.

As per other reviews, these are great hinges, seem to be robust, and work well.All that is required is basic DIY instincts and tools, used matches, and screws!!!On my existing seat all my screws had corroded, so it took a while to remove the old broken hinges, which slightly damaged the screw holes.So I used the little trick often used by caravan repairers of packing the holes with matches and the seat now works better than it did when new!Job done for 1/4 the price - thanks.

When I first bought the hinges I was really happy with the purchase. Installation was a breeze and they were a perfect fit.Unfortunately one of the hinges broke after a month or so. Note really sure whether the product is of poor quality or my ar#e is too heavy...

These hinges are well made, and good value. (No screws were included with mine, but I was able to use the old ones)If your are replacing, (as I was), an existing pair of hinges, bear in mind that the mounting holes for the seat are on a 16mm x 165mm grid, (i.e. the holes are 16mm apart, with 165mm between each pair of holes), while on the lid, they are on a 16mm x 210mm grid.My seat had different hole spacings, so I was only able to use one hole in each pair - I filled the remaining holes with epoxy wood filler.

Brilliant product and service ordered Monday arrived on Wednesday. The hinges and fixtures are of excellent quality although I was unable to use the hinges as the screws from precious hinges wouldn't budge, the fixtures however were a perfect fit. They are far better than those which came with my toilet seat which struggled to keep it in place, I was going to buy a new seat but came across this replacement pack, so glad I did, saved a small fortune. Particularly like the metal washer which goes over the white washer and is secured by a nifty metal nut wich spins up the threaded bolt super quick, my lot nut was plastic took ages to work its way up the bolts and didn't do a very good job tightening it all together. Very pleased with this pack for a fiver it's a bargain, I have seen just one replacement hinge for more than this set so well worth the price.

The right hinge snapped a couple of days after fitting it. this is cheap, nasty and dangerous and the sellers just don't care. I showed them the images and all I got was a couple of single line emails saying they needed it back before a refund would happen.If you have a problem, even when you provide proof, they will only deal with a refund if you send it back - knowing full well that the cost and time for doing so is just not worth it.Don't bother with this muck.

I bought these hinges to replace the manky old ones on my wooden loo seat.The kit comes with everything you would need to start from scratch. The hinges seem to be really substantial and I'm hoping they won't pit and corrode like the last ones (from a well known edge-of-town retailer. Incidentally, they no longer sell these items separately - you have to buy a new seat too!).The bars are about twice as long as you need, so I've cut mine in half, and although plenty of screws were provided, they are really short so I used my own.Ordered at 12.04pmDispatched at 12.39pmArrived at 11.45am next day - great service.
