This product arrived well sealed. The production date was over a year ago and the use by date is a year out. The cocoa had the strong scent of chocolate and the color you would expect. Cocoa powder is the only ingredient. I did a little taste test by making a small batch of brownies. The results were quite good. However, I am not a cocoa aficionado and am quite satisfied with my local supermarket's mid price selection. Hershey's suits me well. If this is you, you will find Brown Gold Natural Cocoa Powder to your liking. I knocked off a star because half of its usable life is up and because it is pricey compared to what I normally purchase.
