It was fast paced, intriguing, and the story telling all encompasing. The romance dynamic was deliciously broody and tense, and I was so invested in each interaction the chatacters had.Characters👥️:Althea's was flawed and determined to reach her dream. Her character development just in the first book was great, as you see her go from arrogance to understanding. Wilder was swoon worthy. I loved how he takes on a mentor role, his strength, and the inclusion of his pov was perfection.Enjoyed❤️‍🔥:I can tell from book one that the world of Thezmarr is going to be an intricate and beautiful world to explore. I love how Scheuerer wrote the flaws and trauma of characters in the story. Throw magic, swordfighting, reapers/wraiths, and prophecy into the mix, you bet I was hooked!Overall❤️:I highly suggest this book for those who are a fan of fast paced, and action packed fantasy romance series. The story was amazing, the characters, including side characters, were beautifully written. Give it a read! I'm on to book two!

I grabbed this book based on the description alone, having never read this author and I am so glad I did! I enjoyed the plot, the characters, the angst, the slow burn, the hints of magic, all of it.What I enjoyed the most was the heart in the writing. That makes this good book so much more. The characters come alive on the pages, their feelings, their adventures. I wish I could explain it better. The writing just has heart, it’s not dry and drab. I love it!

The slow burn and pining were top-tier, and even during the quieter moments, I still couldn’t stop reading. It was entertaining from start to finish.𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔:Thea – A fantastic FMC. She’s fierce, determined, and actually enjoys training (a rarity). She’s strong but still has a softness to her, and best of all, she never crosses into annoying territory like some fantasy heroines tend to do.Wilder – Broody, strong, protective—everything you want in an MMC. But what I loved most is that he actually respects Thea’s strength. He supports her growth instead of trying to hold her back.Kipp & Cal – Absolute scene-stealers. Their humor and loyalty made the book even better.
