Hi, it weighs 5.5 kg without cable, packaging etc.

Q: How many layers can this sew through, can it sew 2 layers of a thick wool coat? And would I need a different foot? Thank you

Difficult to answer without seeing the wool coat. My guess would be that it would. I purchased this as a gift, but the recipient has successfully fixed zips in anoraks.
