After researching a number of wifi enabled controllers and taking with an irrigation professional at the local irrigation supply store, I chose this unit. I only have four stations, but the 8 station model was a much better value and had all the bells and whistles I was looking for. The phone interface is easy to set up and use and mine connected nearly instantly with my router. Be sure that you have a 2.4 ghz enabled router, as this unit will not work on a 5 ghz-only wifi system.Will be purchasing one for my summer home which will allow me to control both homes from one interface.

It works like advertised. Could be a slightly easier/better interface. I was used to the manual version so I had to learn how to work a Rainbird all over again.

Purchased based on advertising that says it will work without Wi-Fi (on its own hot spot.) Exasperating! as it did work once but only momentarily. This controller is based on app operation only. Extremely undependable hot-spot operation . —think twice about this one unless you will operate only with WiFi. It definitely does work with WiFi ; I relocated the controller to my house where WiFi was available & it has worked well for several days.I have yet to operate the controller from a remote location, but I will update my review at that time. I was rooting for this to work but only discovered some disappointment. Too bad for me. 6.27.24 update—🤔 after several tries, I have determined that my controller can only be operated at my house using wi-fi. I wish I had purchased the Orbit controller that I have previously used. Why? Because it does everything that this one does & it has a screen for manual inputs without using a phone.

Basic no frills and easy to use. 8 zones capable but I’m only using 4. No need to buy anything extra for WiFi use. Just download the Rainbird app and start watering. Inexpensive.

Great option for a sprinkler controller just be sure to have a good WiFi signal where you install it !! Currently i install it with the orbit rain sensor and worksI use to have a orbit controller but I replace it with this one because the orbit controller after 3 yearsWas not working anymore so I decide to go to rain bird and I’m happy with itThe WiFi signal vs the orbit controller it’s the same

The voltage rating is listed as: 2.3E+2 Volts. What does that mean?

We are required to install these for a builder. These controllers are awful. 1/3 of them we can't connect via Bluetooth. And these are new construction homes so no wifi is available. Sending a tech out for what should be 5 min stop to shut off sod program can sometime takes hours to connect.It's an awful design to require bluetooth or wifi to connect.
