Keeps Chickens from Pecking one anothers' Wounds
Used on a chickens' damaged comb- before applying it I put a small amount on a wound on the back of my hand to see if it really deters pecking, as claimed. Two of them came up and gave it a light, exploratory peck then left it alone. The applicator is way to big to use on a small wound, and rather than risk spilling the whole bottle I cleaned out a new-skin liquid bandage .03oz glass bottle and filled it about half full. The cap had an application brush, but I removed it and used a q-tip to apply the blu-kote to the wound, since this stuff is so runny.

Works Great for Chinchilla Feet
We all know that chinchillas in captivity often have foot issues because of the soft but hard surfaces they stand on constantly. This works well to prevent bumble foot from forming and actually treats the callouses pretty well. I'm not sure why it works, it just does.

Amazing product
It definitely does stop the bleeding. Only downfall is the blue dye will dye your hands and clothes, so wear gloves and make sure it dries first. I used it on my dogs paw when they get small cuts from running at the park or when their paws get raw due to the dried grass. I live in the desert so it’s hard to keep their paws from getting hurt.

Made for large animals, cured my rat's infected foot.
My poor little guy was hobbling on one hind leg and I noticed an abscess (if that's the right word) protruding under his foot.I first used non scented soap (basically industry grade, off brand anti bacterial soap) on the end of a wet cotton swap. I ran it across his foot a few time with a bit of pressure to kill any excess bacteria. I then used the other end of the swap with water only, and performed the same motion to clear the soap. I pat dried it, then used another swap to apply the blu kote. After two applications (just applied it in the evening) it was already cleared up. I did it another day or two for good measure, and he is all healed up and back to his healthy self. This stuff, by the way, should be treated as an instant dye. Basically has the same staining properties as sharpie ink, so be very careful when opening the bottle and dipping the swab. After application, place your small furry friend on a throwaway cloth of some sort, because it will be littered in purple foot prints.

Effectively stops wound pecking in chickens
I've had to use this a few times with my chickens - mainly to help prevent others from pecking at minor injuries. The dark purple color "hides" wounds, and for the most part I'm able to keep a bird with a minor injury in the flock rather than having to isolate them. That's a HUGE plus, since it means I don't have to deal with reintroducing a chicken back into the flock. Anyone with chickens knows what a headache that is! Blu-Kote will also help hide bald patches if you have problems with feather picking. I've only had to deal with feather picking once - and as soon as I stained her butt purple the feather picking immediately stopped. And while I mainly use it for hiding wounds, I've also never had any wounds get infected - so I assume it does help in speeding healing. That said - I've been lucky and only ever had to deal with really minor injuries (torn comb, minor scrape on a leg, etc.).**Just BE CAUTIOUS - this stuff is incredibly staining. The first time I used it I made the mistake of bringing my chicken inside to doctor her up. The cap has a wand inside with a sponge, so I thought it would be quick & easy to clean her up and just dab this stuff on. And it was...and my chicken was so calm...right up until she shook her head. Purple dye went EVERYWHERE - all over my face, my hair, my clothes, the table and walls. I walked around with purple blotches on my face for several days. No amount of scrubbing would get it off of anything it touched. Believe me, I learned my lesson. Grungy clothes, shower cap & gloves, and outside use only, lol!!
