Extremely helpful getting out of a chair and its portable
My mother has her favorite chair she sits in for the morning sun, but it wasn't a chair lift type chair. After seeing her struggle with getting out, we tried this seat assist and it works great. She can get up on her own and she doesn't struggle anymore while in her favorite chair. Well worth the money and peace of mind. This also allows my mother to have independence while enjoying the morning sun.

This May Work for Most People
I asked in the Questions if the button on this, which appears to be designed to be managed using the person's right hand, could be moved to the left side of the lifter, and was told that it could. Based on that information I purchased this thing. As you can see from the photos I uploaded, that is not true. If the right handle, which has the holster for the switch controlling the lift, is moved to the left side of the lifter, the cable is too short to reach around the seat to that position and goes across the seat, and is barely long enough for the switch to be installed in the handle. Furthermore, only the right handle has a clip to hold the switch, and installing the right handle on the left side of the seat causes the clip to face the back of the seat, not the front as intended. So it is not practical to move the switch to the left of the lifter to accommodate someone unable to use their right hand without re-engineering the cable and handles. The reason I still gave this product four stars, despite the misinformation, is that it still could be very useful for someone able to operate it with their right hand. The other problem we had with the lifter is that it raises the occupant a few inches before it leans them forward, so that someone with their feet on the floor when the thing is retracted may find that their feet are no longer on the floor once they have been lifted. To compensate for this, we are looking for a shorter chair, one only 16" in height, to put it on, to try to compensate for the vertical listing that accompanies the angular tilting that this device is designed to provide. The only other issue was that the chair itself tended to slide back, so that a person wanting to be lifted might want to plan for their chair to be unable to slide backwards when using the device. Otherwise, this seems well designed based on our initial testing.

Buy but be cautious
I purchased the Seat Assist Lifting device to help me stand up from chairs, as I struggle to do so without assistance. The device's ability to elevate significantly is a major plus, making it easier to get to a standing position. However, I found it unexpectedly heavy and cumbersome, which limited its mobility and ease of use for me.While the lift function is effective, users must be cautious due to the device's angled elevation, which can lead to slipping accidents. In conclusion, the Seat Assist Lifting can be a helpful tool, but its weight and safety concerns should be carefully considered. Buy, but be cautious.

Just what I needed
Got this on prime day so I saved a few bucks --still a bit pricey. But it's a game changer. I have a muscle disease which makes it impossible to get off a regular height chair. This works exactly as shown in the video. I was a bit concerned that my butt would be too big. I'm 5'6 and 190 lbs. I do fit. The seat itself is way to hard but with me own cushion it's good. It is portable enough to move around your house as needed but would probably be cumbersome to take to a restaurant/etc.

It's portable!
I tested on myself and it lifted me. I still plan to use it in my car to help a disabled person to stand getting out of my car.
