Great little inverter
This is a great little inverter. I have it in the car tucked between the passenger seat and centre console. I use it to charge my cordless tool batteries. My main battery charger is rated at 155w and it copes fine. A 12v/car version of my battery charger would have cost nearly twice the price of this inverter so it offers more versatility (i.e. I can plug other mains chargers etc into it) for nearly half the price of just ONE charger.

Cheap and compact pure sine wave
Perfect and an essential for any little car or van, especially for campers. The device is nice and small and is also quiet in my experience as to not be a distraction. For those wanting to use it for anything more than 100W, the unit should not use the cigarette port and should be wired to the battery (or fuse box). See the picture attached to save yourself taking it apart, but the wire with the white line is your positive 12V, and the full black wire is negative.

Small with good looking sine wave output
I bought this to replace a non-pure-sinewave Inverter which previously damaged a laptop supply. I cautiously powered this one up from a 12V car battery and using a resistive voltage divider and non grounded portable oscilloscope I checked the output wave form and found it to be quite clean and 'sine wave like!' Unit is silent in operation.Output voltage was encouraging as it nominally read 230V AC 50Hz and corrected for increasing load. So far I have tried it with phone chargers and a small bench drill, (100W), both the wave form and voltage coped well with varying load on the drill.I am reasonably confident that while it continues to work as it did today it should be fine with my laptop.Interestingly, the unit does not need to be switched on to operate the 5V USB outputs a feature which should improve efficiency if all you need to do is charge portable devices from USB. I have yet to check the operating efficiency. For me the 300W output rating should be adequate to serve most of my requirements and to be quite honest, any greater power rating is going to discharge a car battery even more quickly. You don't get ow't for now't!I like it, its a great addition to my camper and home tool kit.

Good inverter but noisy fan when used indoors
I am pleased overall with this inverter. I use it on a home built solar panel/battery power supply. I have removed the screws that hold the fan in place and that has helped to have it running a bit quieter. The fan is still doing its job properly, its just not reverberating in the case as it used to be. when it was hard fixed.I have not run the inverter to its capacity limit, but find that when I plug some mains equipment which normally run at power below 20 watts, the initial surge causes the inverter to trip and the red light shows until I turn the inverter off and back on again. I'm talking about plugging in a laptop charger or a 20 watt TV. So I can't really rely on this inverter to just work on some of the things I wanted to use it on, without having to reset it on the odd initial surges from some devices. The inverter has now been demoted to power garage lights only. It appears to have a standby running current of about half an amp when not supplying mains electricity to equipment.

Great when you need to work on a laptop in the car
Really simple piece of equipment to use. I have a Lenovo laptop which I can plug into this device and it provides more than enough power to allow me to work on it as long as I need. The device is silent-running and doesn't get hot. The additional USB 3 ports are a bonus for plugging in my phone while it acts as a wi-fi hotspot for the laptop.

Received defective
It never worked in any type of load. Connected an USB charger (with no load) which should draw not more than 50W. It worked for 10-15 seconds but during this time there were all sorts of crackling noises coming from it. It felt like is going to burn down. Then it shut down. Tried various loads with less than 100W but none worked the same behaviour. Sent it back for return straight away.

Noisy
Works fine and seems well made, but really noisy. Has a cooling fan that is on the whole time. I'd have returned it but I'd removed the cigarette lighter plug and put some croc clips on before trying it! Idiot! As I say it works fine but don't buy if you have to live near where it's running.
