Great kit and directions
Turned out Great! Quality kit.Build directions were accurate. Very important to follow them. Not the easiest build, but take your time.We made minor modifications to use old doors for the face instead of plywood. And we added 1 additional support board across back.Very pleased with the final result.

No issues, works as needed
I'm still in the process of finishing our murphy bed/built in, but my brother in law slept on the bed for a couple of days and gave his sleep a thumbs up so I figured I can write a review now.For the instructions, I really didn't follow them word for word. I'm by no means a professional carpenter, but I've build enough cabinets that once I saw the cut list I pretty much knew what needed to be done. However as others have commented, I did notice a few mistranslation in the directions. Applying some basic reasoning you can figure out what needed to be done. But if they ever revise the instructions it should be proofread.I can't speak to the instructions for creating the frame on the ground then lifting it up, I didn't build the entire unit on the ground as instructed, instead I build the frame to the wall then attached the bed to the frame. I had to drill out a space for the brackets on the backside of the adjoining cabinets for the swivel mount. I slide the bed into place, braced it on one side, slide the mount in from the back on the other. As for the pistons, no issue. Once I added the weight from the mattress they bed went up and down with no issues. Bed stays down and is easy to pick up.Overall no complaints with the mounting system. Instructions could use some proof reading but if you own a table saw, you will have no problem figuring this out.

Frustrating build
It was nice have set instructions for this build. Please note there are typos in the instructions and the biggest issue for me was the nylon spacers. Thank you to the other person in the reviews that mentioned it. We had to shave/ sand down our spacers by half the size otherwise it will cause the outer frame to bow out and warp like crazy. I am happy with the end result but it took us a few days to realize it was the spacers that cause the frame to warp. Another thing that I can’t seem to figure out is that our bed frame doesn’t close all the way. I need to add a latch at the top to keep it 100% close. I’m not sure if it’s the suspension or what but it just doesn’t close. I know that it’s not the bed stoppers since we tried taking it out.

Safety hazard. Bed sags with the included gas springs.
There are issues with the included gas springs, washers, ball studs, and machine screws, and instructions. The included gas springs should be holding the bed up flush against the wall but as stated by many other reviewers, the bed sags or does not close completely. The instructions state that if the bed sags, it means the ball studs for the gas springs were incorrectly placed however, after double checking the instructions, the ball studs were in fact correctly placed within 1/16th of an inch. It seems likely that many recent kits are being shipped with shorter (perhaps cheaper?) gas springs than what the instructions were written for. To make matters worse, if the bed is pushed flush against the wall, the gas springs will occasionally pop out creating a substantial safety hazard for my kids. The bed weighs over 100lb.The washers for the bed pivot are incorrectly sized. Other reviewers have resorted to cutting them. The machine screws are too thick to tightly fasten plates holding the ball joints to the 3/4 inch plywood. As a result, there is a fair amount of play. I wouldn't be surprised if they work their way out over time, again creating a safety hazard. The ball studs are not securely fastened to the ball plates. I had to tighten the lower ball studs with a pair of wrenches. The gas springs would otherwise pop out very frequently. Finally, the instructions are truly awful. The measurements for the bed stopper are in

Take your time read through both books first !
The Murphy bed kit was pretty easy to put together overall. The instructions show you how much material to purchase and how each piece is cut out of the sheets of plywood & lumber. The cut list was easy to read and understand, even for a novice woodworker or a do it yourselfer. You get a detailed cut list in the first book, and a detailed assembly with pics in the second book.We substituted hardwood for the bed rails and the head rails of the bed, to make a little smoother side rail. This is a great kit for a queen sized bed, you'll enjoy it.

Outstanding Customer Service!
Although there was a problem, customer service was immediate, went out of their way to resolve it, replacing the defective parts for free with 3 day shipping, listened to my input to learn how to improve their product, and in the end, even offered a lifetime warranty. Here’s what the problem was: The plastic end cap pieces to the gas piston lift cylinders were defective and would not snap into place. The caps were not available separately and could only be obtained be replacing the entire the gas piston lift cylinders. Still, they did this for free and the replacements are working perfectly.Previous to this, I had lost the instruction booklet. Upon contacting them for a replacement, they emailed a .pdf version immediately without delay. If only more merchants, online or otherwise, were so courteous and helpful, the world would be such a better place.

Good hardware, detailed instructions, and helpful customer support!
I had a great experience with this queen-sized murphy bed kit. The cutting instructions were very thorough and easy to follow, as well as the step by step instructions for assembling the kit. At one point I thought I was missing a part (I wasn't, I just hadn't looked carefully enough) and when I emailed customer service about it they were very helpful, responsive, and kind. The bed turned out beautifully and I would definitely recommend this product.
