Early days but so far so good for an entry level product.
I bought this for one specific job with the idea that even if it wasn't up to the task then it wasn't a huge investment, and at best it would save me spending several hundred pounds more on hiring a professional tree surgeon.Things got off to a shaky start when I found that the oiler adjustment on the chainsaw gear head was broken on receipt, but after contacting the seller and sending photographs of the issue, a replacement part arrived within a week. Excellent customer service. The tool itself does everything it is supposed to. Assembly was simple (only one of the extension poles was a bit difficult to insert). The kit comes with all the tools you need to put it all together. Just one word of warning: You will need access to a grease gun to lubricate the chainsaw gear head. The hedge trimmer comes pre-greased (according to the instruction manual) but it does not specify the same for the chainsaw. A quick trip to Screwfix sorted that out.The motor starts first time, every time. The harness is basic but works, but in my opinion holds the power head too low to be comfortable (that or the trigger is too far back). But nothing that can't be overcome. Beware - it IS heavy. And especially unwieldy when all three extension poles are used, but even as a complete novice I was able to handle it and cut reasonably accurately.I have now accomplished my task and so now it will be packed away until it is needed again. Will it work when it comes out of hibernation? Who knows. But It's done its job and anything from here on is a bonus.Very happy with my purchase so far.

The price is very good. Did all of the garden . A little heavy with the extra extension on. Good quality.

Good value for money
I've been impressed with the BU-KO long reach hedge trimmer and pruner. It's worth spending some time setting the machine up. I probably spent 30 minutes constructing and doing some test cuts and it was worth it. Getting the harness adjusted to take the weight of the machine is important. It's so much more comfortable to use if the harness is carrying most of the weight. I also adjusted the handle position a couple of times to reduce wrist angle and therefore fatigue. The engine started first time. It was really easy to prime and start. It was a bit smokey at first but soon ran-in. The extension poles were a little stiff to insert initially, but became easier after a few goes. There is a bit of manual effort in changing cutting height, so this is probably a tool for light to moderate use, but it works well. I'm please with the purchase. There are also several extra parts, like gloves, safety glasses, tools, and a spare spark plug. It felt like a well thought out, complete package.

Very well built, quality parts.
The instruction book was helpful as a double check. However assembly was relatively easy. Chainsaw was a bit more of a challenge but patents prevails.after assembling I used it immediately, first with no extensions, easy to use and did exactly what I needed it for. As I added extensions my only negative remark is that it becomes quite heavy and will take a bit of practice to get correct angle etc. overall impressed with build quality, buying the bag to store device was a good decision as there are so many parts to keep safe.

Fine, but very heavy
This is a good enough hedge trimmer, but it is a brut. Unless you are very strong, fit, and experienced with this kind of equipment, I would suggest you look at alternatives. The combination of weight and length when using the extensions, makes it hard to lift and unwieldy, so is difficult to use effectively. No doubt 'practice makes perfect', but it's hard to control to 'do a good job', especially at full length. The position of the handles and harness don't work well with the extensions, which doesn't help.On the plus side, despite my research, prior to buying, and seeing widespread concerns about problematic starting of similar kinds of petrol trimmers, it starts very easily, every time, so far.Having used petrol strimmers and lawn mowers over many years, this hedge trimmer engine is comparatively very noisy, even with proper ear protection, it seems really loud.It also produces a lot of smokey fumes, more than anything I've used.I haven't attempted to use the chain saw attachment yet.Overall, it looks and feels well enough made for domestic use, so if you are very strong and experienced with this sort of thing, it could be a good option, but otherwise consider other ways to get the job done.
