Super
Great playing feel, white finish is beautiful, crisp buttons, an actually functional app, and enough instruments with overwhelmingly positive sound quality.Bear in mind the speakers face predominantly away from you, so it benefits from reflections off a nearby wall. As a standalone it doesn't sound as direct as it could. The app offers some Wall EQ which really helps, and you can always change between the piano sounds depending on the feel you want. I quite like the ballad piano for late evening gentle playing, and the bright for a crisper tone, and I do generally prefer the main piano sound to the old main piano sound. It's a bit more natural whereas the old one feels a bit simple, though nicely direct and forward up to and including the 5th octave. New one has nicer 6th octave to my ears and is more even across the full range.

Great sound and excellent quality
I love this digital piano. It’s easy to setup and the quality of sound and weigh of the keys resembles a real acoustic piano. And you can connect external devises such as speakers, headphones, computer, etc. I haven’t tried all the other instruments yet, but a couple of them were quite good.

Good for the price
OK, much lighter than my old P120. Slight difference in action but still has good Yamaha feel. Doubt it will last as long as my old Yamaha due to plastic construction but so far so good.

Yamaha P225 Digital Piano review January 2025
This is a fantastic update to the P series range. It has a new keybed action which is firm, very responsive and playable ; an updated sound engine along with a new speaker system. A very impressive digital piano at a great price.

Don't buy if you want to be able to hear it.
Second purchase of yamaha keyboard, p145 and p225, both have issues with volume. Even at full volume in a quiet environment the volume is woefully inadequate. I have read other reviews on this but decided to go with reviews on youtube...I was wrong it was misleading. Even with sound boost as per instructions, it barely makes any difference.I'm currently playing a different brand of keyboard and the difference in volume is night and day. What makes it worse with yamaha... I'm on the phone to them for support and they cut you off.
