No not under carpet, you need to hang from a door or somewhere where air can circulate around it. Air flow is key !

Q: When i use this bag do i have to keep the windows open?

Not at all These bags work with windows opened or closed. They were a life saver when we had a dead rat in our wall cavity. The windows were open all summer and closed during the winter and we had no smell

Q: Hi had a dead rat in the garden, remived it but smell still bad. Can these bags still work outside?

Worked very well in the house but can’t say about outside. You may have another hidden. Ours died under the floor had to lift floors to find it. Sorry can’t be more helpful.

I have to admit it really did seem to work. Dead rat smell in my bedroom was literally making me heave, it was absolutely vile, but the remover bag really did neutralise it and within 4-5 days, you could only make out a very faint odour. The bag was put into a large storage cupboard from where the smell was emanating into my bedroom, and it started to work well in about 24 hours. Honestly I would buy another if it happened again.
