I am really surprised at how nice this lamp is. When you order something natural like this, it's really hit or miss as to whether you'll get a nice piece or something just so, so. As it turns out, I won the lottery on this one. The highlights are just beautiful on this lamp. Even in the daylight with no illumination this is a wonderful piece, but in the dark, when lit up, this piece is nothing short of otherworldly gorgeous. If you're on the fence, I'd say go for it. If you get something less than spectacular, you can always return it, but you might just wind up with something really special like I did.Note: I did purchase a soft white 3 watt LED bulb in anticipation of the lamp shipping with a less than stellar bulb. As it turns out, the bulb that came with it is quite small and did not transition from dim to bright as smoothly as the better, bigger bulb I replaced it with. If you replace the original bulb be sure and get one that has dimmer abilities.Terry M.

The stock bulb flickered like a strobe. Unusable. I settled on the Leools E12 LED T6 Tubular Edison Style LED Filament, 6W Dimmable, Warm White 2700K, 7.3in bulbs in the two lamps that I bought. Take your own chances, but I think this bulb ideal for this lamp. I've run them continuously for many hours. No flicker. They don't get hot. They dim nicely (for LED) compliments of the warm onyx. And they don't need to get any brighter when maxed. The elongated form distributes light evenly up the length of the lamp. I bought a six pack, and I'm set for life. Caveat emptor, marbling varies a lot between lamps. This affects light output. One of mine can get noticeably brighter with the same bulb. It seems no two lamps are the same. But it's a neat feature if you like the patterns you receive. Mine are quite different but they complement each other.

I like the style of the lamp it is indirect..not staring at a light bulb..soft light. Nice for evening as body winds down for sleep.Thank you!

The lamp I received was not as described. It is not “hollowed out“ stone at all. It is comprised of several thin slabs of material glued together to appear like a solid piece of stone. Unfortunately, the one I received was so dark it barely emitted any light at all. I had to return it. I was disappointed, because if it had been light with veining, as in the pictures, it might have been lovely.

I installed a 6W LED (60W) eq bulb and these lamps come alive! I immediately ordered another.

This is a beautiful cylinder of heavy onyx. The specimen I received has yellow, oranges, grays and green vertical striations around the entire piece. It looks great during the day and even better lit up at night. All electrical pieces in working order and even included a light bulb. Hope to enjoy this gorgeous hunk of stone for years to come.
