Great tasting new Halloween cereal for 2023
Every year I buy a single box of the monster cereals for Halloween. This year, I saw they were adding a new female character and were giving an early release. So naturally I found it on Amazon. I'm a HUGE fan of the original artwork they used for Count Chocula and the rest of the monster cereals. This box goes a long with the updated artwork, which I'm not a huge fan of. For 2022 they released the monster cereals with the original art work and I hope they're able to give Carmella a vintage design even though she's brand new, sometime in the near future. But enough splitting hairs. The cereal has an apple jack taste yet slightly vanilla'd (which I'm assuming is the caramel flavoring peeking through). The marshmallows are classic and taste very good. I prefer a more grainy taste like Lucky Charms has, but I'm OK with this too. Taste wise 8/10. Character creation is a 9/10, great idea to utilize the zombie craze that's still going strong, but "Carmella Creeper" is not as memorable as a name like Count Chocula, Frankenberry, or Boo Berry. Something with the word "Zomberries" might have had a better touch. The character is still brilliant, don't get me wrong and a long awaited female character is always great. Artwork an 8/10. I do hope they merchandise her, because she is very cute. Enjoy!

Yes. It does taste good!
I was hard pressed to imagine that anyone would really rate this cereal one or two stars. Naturally novelty items are not always perfect, but by no means is this one sooooo bad. Is it sweet? Yes. Is it overly sweet? I really don't think so. The sweetness seems to be just right and the marshmallows add the perfect touch. You want sweet, try Capn Crunch, Cookie Crisp, Trix, Lucky Charms - all tasty but very sweet. Now I do have to say that I tasted more apple and maybe a hint of caramel in this ceral. So I'm not sure if other people expected it to taste completely like caramel. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it, my father (81 years old) enjoyed it, my nieces and nephews enjoyed, and even gave it to some friends for fun and nobody seemed to have a problem with it. Guess everyone is a food critic on Amazon and must think it's cool to be overly critical. I would absolutely recommend this cereal to anyone. Plus it only cost like $4. So seriously, what have you got to lose? Give it a shot.

Sweet Caramel Flavor that turns the Milk Green, could use more marshmallowish things
The basics - It's sweet, really sweet. With the first spoonful, the caramel flavor grabbed my tongue with both hands and announced it would be sticking around for a while after the bowl was empty. The crunchy parts are a ghastly green and turn the milk the same color over time because of course it does, it's a Monster cereal and this is all exactly the kind of thing it should do.There are marshmallowish things in there to counter the crunchy and ramp up the sweetness. I expected more of those BUT this may be industry standard, and in fact may have ALWAYS been industry standard. It's been literal decades since I bought a Monster cereal, so my memory of a heap of marshmallowish sweet nuggets may be colored by nostalgia. And nostalgia is the only reason I bought this as someone over fifty with no kids in the house. My mouth has experienced every monster cereal, including the werewolf and mummy (don't make this weird), and when I learned about Carmilla I wasn't going to miss out. Hours later I can still taste the lingering caramel flavor and the sky high level of sweetness left my stomach grumbling in complaint. I regret nothing.Carmella is a fine addition to the Monster brand, and I like that she has a hobby/career, unlike the Aristocratic Vampire, Pink Pseudo-Golem, Ghost, Skinwalker, and Animated Mummy. It's completely unnecessary, which makes its presence all the better. So buy this for nostalgia, for fun, for your collection, or maybe your cereal devouring kids. No one's pretending this is anything gourmet. It's Monster Cereal, and it does it's job well, but four stars since it could use more of those marshmallow sweet bits.

Tastes just like Nothing!
I loved the idea of the cereal. I love caramel apple anything. After opening the bag the smell was pretty good, but there was no taste! It was just like eating a plain corn cereal. Maybe got a whiff of fleeting flavor. My favorite part of eating cereal is drinking the milk when I'm done. Tis cereal made the milk taste worse than plain milk! So disappointed.

Looks better than they taste
Was I excited to find out General Mills had a new monster cereal mascot? Yes. Did I think the cereal itself looked fun and flavorful? Also yes. Was the cereal good? No. It’s pretty bland, and the milk didn’t even turn green. Wouldn’t recommend, though maybe it could be used to make a version of Rice Krispie treats?
