WD 6 TB My Cloud Home Duo Dual-Drive Personal Cloud

Bought as a replacement of my dead apple time capsule. It seamlessly linked up to time machine and backed up my hard drive without issue. I have also installed the Plex app and am now able to enjoy watching my dvd/blu ray collection from anywhere in the would - very easy set up too!I don’t know what the issue the doomsters were having with this product I personally think it’s awesome and is definitely the best investment I’ve made in a long time.5

I already have a mycloud and thought I would upgrade to a duo to backup my library. I was under the impression it would work that same way as my old one. Wrong. You cannot stream any videos off this to a TV without going through the Plex app which is a pain in the rear. Plex is slow, awkward to set up and has connection problems. And the other point is this thing never shuts up, it is so loud, whirring and grinding away at all times, even when the drives are not in use. At 4 in the morning when nobody is using this thing, it is whirring and grinding really loudly. The makers have made this thing way more complicated than it needs to be and it is going back. Waste of time

As this comes complet with software is very easy to set up to PC's. I have had difficulties streaming files to my smart TV's. Having sead that from a storage and access perspoective PC and Tablet it's very easy and effective to use.

Product was average when I bought as had a Pc and mobile app support, recently this went offline. I have been ringing customer care for months seeking assistance for my data, no success. I will advise to avoid the product.

This product works okay for anyone who doesn't care about customizing their newtork drive or about data transfer speeds. The performance is slow and the UI is incredibly basic with limitations on customizing what should be YOUR folders (not WD's chosen folders).The "public" folder cannot be remotely accessed via the internet (only on the Local LAN) and your private folders are only accessible through MyCloud.com - not direcetly across the LAN. And there is no way of changing this AS THERE SHOULD BE as it is YOUR hard drive NOT WD's!!Product returned to WD.

This product does not work at home on a wired network without active internet connection. I.e., if you store your music on it to use Sonos when your internet is down, you can't access your music when you need it most.
