Q: I am confused. Different cable size thickness? Which thickness cable to buy. Can any one advice me.

Don't Listen to Valhalla, if you have invested in a decent AMP, it will cut out to protect itself and the speakers if the sound throughput get too much. There are 2 basic standards US AWG and EU in mm2 basically 2,5mm2 = 14 AWG which will cover runs up to 6m for every 2ohm of speaker output. or 4mm - 12 AWG which will give you 9m for every 2ohm of speaker output. if you want to get really techy you can factor in the AMP power output and wont end up with cut outs if you are right on the edge. Thinner wires or higher AWG numbers give you less and less distance, and copper coated reduce this even more.

Q: What size is best for wiring up car stereo speakers?

16 gauge cable is a good choice for car audio " I.E 16 gauge in mm is 1.2 thick. Hope this was helpful
