Q: Help, please re how to best apply? After hand sewing around the motif, do I remove the "net-backing" shown - or do I cut/snip it before applying?

The net backing is very sheer. I just left it alone. You could trim it a little if needed but you cannot remove it all. It is what is holding the motif together. You really don’t notice it once it’s hand stitched down.
