I brought this chair and returning this because is really very unsafe for to be used for an impaired old person.

Bought this to assist a mobility-impaired person who occasionally needs to go up and down stairs. It's advertised as being able to open and close in one easy motion/step. I'm not sure if perhaps we got a defective unit, but when we folded it open, and the person sat down, the chair folded back up on itself and tossed the person to the floor, much to our horror. We reread the [poor] instructions, trying to figure out what went wrong, but they were useless. It took 2 more tries and falls (not with the mobility impaired person), before we realized there is a horizontal bar on the back of the chair that is supposed to slide/click into a locking position when you pull the chair open, but ours did not do this consistently. Yes the chair is lightweight and folds up compactly, but we cannot recommend a device that causes harm to someone, especially a person who is already mobility impaired. We promptly returned this.
