Best in Class
Item arrived as described. Works just fantastic, it is very fast and battery is just long lasting. Yeah it doesnt come with cable or charger itself, but i have bought an original 30W Sony XQZ-UB1 charger which come with its Type-C to Type-C cable and works just wonderful. No major or minor thermal issues so far. Phone is thin and very ergonomic. Snap 8 Gen 2 is just power beast and thrue 120 Hz refresh rate is very nice too. Works with GSM carriers with no issues. This 21:9 Oled display is just miracle for everyday use ❤️

Unlockable bootloader
Sony Xperia 5 V 5G Dual XQ-DE72 256GB 8GB RAMI am in the U.S. using TMobile and the 4G/LTE+ works just as well as my Galaxy S10 did. Unfortunately, 5G doesn't work here and it also lacks band 71 (600MHz). You can look up the network bands it supports on gsmarenaYou can unlock the bootloader by plugging the IMEI number into Sony's website though it'll void your warranty! Definitely going to do just that once the 2 year OS & 3 year security updates are over and get LineageOS on hereThe spatial audio is the first time I've been impressed when holding a phone horizontally and watching videos through its speakers. I also like using it with wired Sennheiser HD6xx headphonesLove the Photo Pro app! It has different profiles you can choose from and the default basic one works just fine for everyday shooting. It allows things such as auto face detection and QR code scanningThe manual profile lets you change every bit of the camera; basically what you'd get to change on a DSLR in case the auto settings don't get you the shot you want.No heating issues when using he camera like in the past, though I haven't tested it for a long time

Does not work with AT&T, only partially works with Tmobile
The phone itself is excellent, and I wish I could keep it. but all US carriers I tried lock out the phone at least partially (TMobile, Google Fi) if not completely (AT&T). If you're fine without 5G reception, TMobile could still work for you - LTE, calls, texts, even wifi calling all worked fine. I would have kept the phone if I had any service at my apartment except for 5G - but I was buying to get 5G service. AT&T didn't work at all - no calls or texts. This is not the seller's or the phone's fault, but be aware that "GSM unlocked" still doesn't guarantee full compatibility, not like it used to. Carriers have device whitelists for certain features or their entire network, and without a US-specific model of the 5V, I doubt it will ever be added.

Does not work on T-Mobile
I liked this phone's features but the onboard radios just aren't compatible with U.S. networks. No 5G, no 3G, and spotty 4G at best. I would regularly encounter dead zones. I would walk 20 feet and it would switch from 4G to no service. I never saw the 5G symbol show up. Meanwhile, my $200 motorola phone worked perfectly with the same SIM card.I did my best to make the phone work. T-Mobile customer service said the xperia 5 v was "not fully unlocked." I tried looking up procedures and codes for unlocking the xperia, but you cannot do it manually. A little research shows that this device just does not pick up the 3G, 4G, or 5G bands that U.S. carriers transmit and receive data on. There is no 3G radio at all.The descriptions say that this will not work on Verizon. That's because it does not have a CDMA radio. CDMA was a 3G technology. The newer 4G networks do not require this. Still, it's a safe bet the phone won't work reliably with any U.S. carrier - ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, or otherwise. It might make sense to buy this phone if you were moving to a European country. That's where this was properly released. It is a shame. The phone worked well on wi-fi and had a very nice camera and speakers. I liked the SD card slot and the headphone jack most of all. I just couldn't justify spending this much on something that would not be reliable for use other than wi-fi.

Phone works in South Africa
The phone works perfectly in South Africa on all networks. Has a dual sim option, which was very helpful.

Great phone, works on Mint. Few issues.
Generally, you but this phone for it's camera, so probably you already saw review videos.Pros:- Great camera with great software to support it.- Long screen and design, this phone is not wide and easy to hold. The screen has good resolution, and you can work comfortably with the phone.- Works with Mint mobile which is on the T mobile net work and ATT. Most of the carries have a white list, just to select the phone that they provide as a part of their package. In Europe and other countries most of the mobile plans are less then $30 a month with x10 of data plan, just in the US you pay over $50+Cons:- This phone does not come with a charger and a cable. When you pay $1000+ for a phone you do not expect to waist your time looking to buy a charger and a cable too. Every phone comes with it!- Finger print sensors is not consistent and does not read well at times. At the same time it is located on the side button, so when you grab the phone you might unlock the screen too.Overall the phone is great.

I wish Sony took the USA market seriously!
I need a phone with a headphone jack and expandable storage, those two features are not optional for me. I've used Sony phones for years because they continue to offer those two features. The 5 V is my favorite Sony phone yet. It's still on the semi-compact side, but has a big clear screen. The battery life is insane. Such a great phone! I wish there was an official US release, but at least it's possible to get and use in the US.
