great set for fine motor and hand muscle development
I love it when my kids love a great tool cleverly disguised as a toy and that's PRECISELY what this set is! There are 2 options in this set that work in both sand and water, and 2 that are really only suited for water, so this is a great set for a backyard water table or the beach. The little scoop toy is fun for dumping water or sand into buckets and onto unsuspecting siblings. If you're a Pinterest Parent, I imagine this would be perfect in a sensory table with rice or beans, too! The purple squirting toy has surprisingly long range for attacking moms who are distracted checking facebook. The spiral tool takes some extra patience and coordination but makes a great water and sand conveyer. Note, though, that this tool in particular works much better with sand (especially wet sand) than water because it's not a tight seal between the tube and the spiral, so it leaks water rather quickly. At first, my 3 year old was frustrated by this toy, but her stubborn streak set in and she had it mastered by the end of the month. Luckily, that same easy fit that leaks water quickly also makes it easier for less-precise toddler hands to align the tube and spiral. The squiggle water squirter was errantly left outside one evening and succumbed to what we can only imagine was a particularly confused and hungry raccoon. I will say that even with multiple puncture wounds to the bulb, this toy still totally works! The quality of this set is fantastic; we've had no breakage (outside of the aforementioned raccoon incident) and my kids aren't delicate little flowers when playing, haha. My kindergartener with a fine motor delay learned to effectively get lids on and off solely because of the purple squirter toy (the urge to spray a tiny jet stream of water at Mama over-road his fine motor frustration).

Great sensory toys
Great cute tools for sensory play. We have used the tools for water and sand play. These items with cups in a bin with water and Pom poms can keep my little 2.5 year old entertained for over an hour. Definitely a good buy. In regards to functionality, the size of the tools are good for toddler hands. Tools are easy to take apart and clean.

Great for water tables!
My son is 3 and autistic. He struggles with using scissors, so I got these in hopes the “scissor pair” would help him learn how to hold them properly in one hand. It *is* helping! We take the whole set out to the water table and hot tub. He has fun scooping, squirting, pinching, squeezing, etc. They also come in handy during his speech & occupational therapy appointments! He learned some new verbs and phrases playing with these. 👏🏼Learning Resources is such a fantastic brand. I love everything they make. I try not to have these in the bath tub, since we all know what happens when dirty, soapy water sits in toys too long…. Mold. 🤢 regular hose water seems to be ok, though!Highly recommend these for ages 2.5+. Hope this helps! ☺️

Great sensory/sandbox tools
My kids absolutely adore these tools. They’re fantastic for enhancing hand-eye coordination. I’ve incorporated them into my sensory table and used them outdoors in the sandbox. The vibrant colors and inviting designs captivate the attention of children. The moment I opened the package, my kids were intrigued. They’re definitely worth the investment.

Don’t purchase sand and water one if you really want to use the dropper
I purchased both kits because I wanted all the tools for my son. The water dropper in the regular helping hands set is easy to squeeze for a small child. The dropper in the sand and water set I can barely squeeze! For the money charged I’d say all things should work for a small child as it indicates ages 3+ no way can a 3 year old use the dropper as intended!Don’t waste your money on sand and water set!!!!Buy the regular “helping hands” and maybe search for other sensory tools you’re look for through a different seller!
