These 1 micron filters by Aquaboon are of good quality and work well. The ones I use are pleated and do a great job as a pre-filter, wholesome filter or a final filter. At one micron it removes most of the scale from the water and the water is softer after going through this filter. It can even filter out cyst and protazoa from well water with good efficiency. You have to match the filter size to the size of your house though. 10"x 2.5" is good for 5gpm or a small house. 10" x 4.5" is good for 10gpm or a medium size house and 20" x 4.5" is good for 20gpm or a larger size house. I micron is very small so catches almost everything from the water. If you have good quality water to begin with it will last longer up to 12 months.

Great value on a Filter that does the Job!

These are truly the best. They capture all the mineral junk from the aquifer. While recommendations are to change 3–6 months, I am swapping out filters every 2 months because of the job they do.

It looks like a good filter but doesn't fit my canister filter. The filter's length is longer than the internal high of the canister filter. After installation, the pleats are twisted.

Our cabin uses lake water, and I use this as our whole house filter. It's been better than a typical 20 micron filter at removing particulates. I then use a couple of 0.5 micron filters and UV to get drinking water, but this filter works great for the rest of the house.

I use sediment filters as a first filter in my maple syrup RO system. I used a more solid filter before, and this works a lot better! I saw an increase in flow with this filter without sacrificing performance. The filter fits just the same as any other 2.5" x 10" filter, with a good seal on the inlet hole. Would definitely recommend to anyone needing a sediment filter.
