Easy to use, Simple USB remote is nice
I put this directly on top of a 8" carbon filter (vertically oriented). So far, it seems to work as well as the Can Filter it replaced. It had what looked like a little black weight clipped to one of the fan blades, and it didn't come off when I gave it a light tug so I just left it there. So far it seems to be running well so I guess it was a weight put on to balance the blade.I like that the remote plugs into the unit via USB-C, and that the cable is ~10ft long. (I operate this in my bedroom from my bed, so that's perfect). If you need this to run any more complicated cycles than 10 ON 50 OFF, you'll want the more expensive control unit. For my purpose this is great. I'm using it to replace a Can Fan that I think was destroyed by a Speedster (doesn't want to turn on anymore).I like the EC motor that seems to be able to run reliably at low speed seeing as ALL fans this size and bigger are loud at full power (this fan isn't loud, but don't expect to sleep next to it at speed 4 or greater). It's mostly synthetic material with plastic fan blades, whereas the Can Fan was all metal, but it makes this fan considerably lighter than the Can, and if it's rated at 1/3 the power consumption it's saving me money. It seems to move as much air as the CanFan, so if it lasts at least as long I will be pleased. So far I'm happy.

Very quite and strong
I used this for the kitchen to pull out the smoke and cooking smell from the blower of the over the range microwave. It is strong and quiet. My only complain is that it is 50 Watts not 35 Watts as the mentioned in the listing on Amazon.

Quiet, powerful and flexible
Great fan design, pretty quiet on first two settings (you almost can't hear it in a quiet room) in free air, let alone with it connected up, some minor bearing noise which you get with ball bearing fans, I wish there was a sleeve bearing version (with oil included for people and instructions to oil regularly).Controller works great (E42) and is fast and accurate (no waiting for temp/RH changes) but wish it had CO2 measurement and support for a generic 10V dimming output for other leds/custom ones. I'll do some snooping and see how it's working so far if PWM or voltage based, I'm sure the CS at Vivosun will tell me if I ask, they are great.Overall probably the best bang for buck if you want a quiet fan. G4 is their quietest fan. Db rating I'd say is likely accurate when the fan is mounted properly (suspend/isolate it) and with a filter or piping etc.

Max air flow
I mounted this fan inline in my A/C unit ductwork to push more air into my Florida Room. Easy to control the amount of air needed via the app. Can be timed or temperature controlled. A great addition to make my added living space more comfortable.

Smart exhaust/ventilation with big benefits
The media could not be loaded. I love the Vivosun Smart Grow System! I’ve been replacing everything (lights, fans, exhaust) with the new SGS products since they work so well with each other and are monitored and controlled easily with the Vivosun App, which is actually pretty awesome. I’m replacing my old AC Infinity 6” (bc it was too loud and did not have smart capabilities) with the Vivosun 8” G8 inline fan to move more air more quietly. The fan itself is great quality and is lightweight so it’s not too difficult or heavy to lift and mount to the ceiling of a tent. It is pretty quiet for the amount of air it’s able to push out. Another good thing is it’s easy to clean, being able to take the fan housing apart lets u get in there to wipe away any dust that may accumulate. This was a great upgrade from the AC Infinity.

Good fan for xTool F1 Ultra laser
This fan works great with the laser and I needed an extra boost to get the laser vented through about 10 feet of vent pipe. It exhausts the fumes rather well and am pleased it has a variable fan speed selection.

The duct fan i got doesn't work
I got this just for the smart controller it was the same price during the black Friday sale as the controller itself. So I said mind as well but the controller and duct fan. I opened the package and looked at the instructions list for all the parts that should be in the box.Now I don't need the duct fan but for space in the area I placed this fan inside the grow tent. as for the parts I was missing a connector that plugs into the smart controller that gets hooked up to AC power outlet. So I started tinkering around and pulled out the duct fan and noticed a usb-c hook up i plugged that in and the controller powered up.Now for my issue!!! I plugged everything in zip tied the wires to the frame of the grow tent and the smart controller said the fan was on level 1. I reached up to feel if air was moving through the fan!! this was not the case so I started to pull the duct fan down cutting all zip ties. I get the fan out plug it into the outlet and boom fan fires up I plug in the smart controller adjust the fan level to 10 plug it in again to the outlet and nothing happens. I can hear the compactor clicking so I know power is getting to the fan it just doesn't work hooked up to the smart controller. So I take the controller off of the fan via usb-c hook up. plug the fan in again and now it doesn't even turn on without the smart controller! I now have it taken apart looking for where this issue is think there is an issue with the motherboard or the compactors attached to the motherboard. probably going to return and see if I can get a replacement.
