Got this for my mom on Mother's day. The smell is overwhelming at first but tones down later. Very elegant design and great quality.

I gave this to my mom on mother's day. She loved how it smelled. She was blown away with how good it smelled. I was happy I got her something that she was happy with. It's not easy to buy something that's smells when you have no idea what it's going to smell like. I took the chance and I'm glad I did. 😊

I don’t know if they just forgot to put the essential oil/essence in it. But it smells nothing like as described, in fact smelled like nothing but clay? Disappointing and would not recommend, at least not the vanilla sandalwood. Burned for 2 hours and still no good.

This is a great idea and a lovely two-part candle. But the concept does fall short a bit as the inserts don't seem to be easily available. I think the bamboo outer vessel has a charming, rustic look and it is smoothly finished and feels durable. The aluminum inset also has a rather vintage look to it. It reminds me a bit of the canisters some of my loose leaf teas are packaged in. And I really like the look so I always keep and refill them or use them for something else. I'll do the same with this one. Or maybe I can use it to make my own candles. Of course, the aluminum container can also just be recycled. I had the idea that I would be able to purchase the inserts through Amazon, but they are not shown. Only the full kit is available. I was not able to find the inserts for this brand online either. Maybe they will become available in a single pack or the two-pack mentioned in the product description in the near future.I chose the teak version and the candle smells lovely without being too strong and is not overpowering at all. The throw is modest -- it takes a while, but the fragrance will fill a small to medium sized room. The crackling wooden wick is fun but the effect is rather subtle compared to another brand that offers this type of wick. The candle burns cleanly and the wax melts evenly. I do think the regular price is a bit high, but the current cost of $19.99 seems reasonable for a 9-ounce, single wick candle. The candle arrived in a box that would be suitable for gifting.

The candle began throwing fragrance within minutes of being lit the 2nd/3rd times I lit it. I paid slightly less than USD fifteen for this 245g double-wick, soy candle, so it was reasonably priced for how it was packaged (both the lovely box & the glass vessle).Subjectively, I think the box was quite nice, as was the red glass container and real wood lid. The candle itself had a pleasant, subtle, white gardenia scent, and the "throw" is adequate for a small office, bathroom, or 12 x 12 guest bedroom or reading nook. You will require 2 (possibly 3) for a large living area or master suite, or if you'd like to scent your entire living/dining/entertaining space for a dinner party.It isn't easy to adequately capture the heady scent of natural white gardenias without it becoming cloying, but this vendor seems to have captured an essence that is a subtle, pleasing substitute for the real thing. The scent is not at all overpowering, cloying, or nauseating and I would certainly consider purchasing tea lights in this same fragrance to scent my entire home.At this price, it does make a nicely packaged, small gift. For people who know what a high-quality, richly scented candle is supposed to look, feel (very soft wax due to high fragrance saturation), and smell like, they would immediately know this is not one of those weighty, expensive, richly-scented candles. This is not a statement gift, and it is not a birthday/Valentine's/anniversary/Christmas gift. It's a small gift you might take as a hostess gift for brunch/lunch or maybe as a little something solely for the hostess of a Super Bowl Party along with whatever beverage/snack/barbecue items you might also bring.I might buy this as a small thank you gift for my sister, adult niece, daughter, dog walker, or as part of a gift set/basket for bridesmaids.Keep in mind, candles are made/mixed in batches and I cannot attest to the uniformity of this scent throughout the white gardenia candles from this vendor, as this was my first purchase.I would consider purchasing this white gardenia scent again, but if I were solely purchasing for my personal use, I'd likely choose the flexibility of tea lights or one of the candles that is *not* in the lovely, gift box. I like tea lights because I can regulate how much or how little scent is being thrown throughout a particular space.

The scent of this candle is amazing. It's not overpowering. I use it in my room makes it smell so good. The jar It's in is beautiful, the candle I'd bigger than I thought it would be.
