Great product!
It has made hoof trimming much more efficient for me. Very intuitive to use although the instructional videos are great!

Far superior to traditional hoof trimming tools
I breed Mini Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats. I have a very large herd and am not a strong person so hoof trimming is a big chore. I bought the Hoof Boss complete kit several months ago because I also have horses but I hadn’t gotten around to using it until recently. Today I just finished using it on the last of my 25 does (the bucks are next!) and I am IN LOVE with this thing! It does have a bit of a learning curve and it takes practice to perfect your technique but as you learn how to use it and your goats get used to it it gets faster and easier and you do such a better job than traditional hoof nippers. And boy do those hooves look pretty! You can do as little or as much as you like, from just “getting it done” to making them show ready. You can make them so smooth and nice that there’s nowhere for bacteria to hide, leading to hoof rot. And while it IS possible to get them too close of you aren’t careful I find that I draw blood way less that with nippers and nowhere near as badly, which leads to less pain and trauma to the goat.In the beginning start with the discs meant for goats (gold and blue) so that you don’t take too much off at once. At first you’ll think that this thing is slower than using traditional nippers and it may be, but once you and your goats get used to it your speed will increase AND you are not just trimming but sanding (rasping) and buffing. Then as you get used to the machine you can use the yellow and red discs (meant for horses) and take more off faster. But don’t start with them or you might hurt your goat! You definitely want to wear heavy gloves with this and maybe long sleeves, and definitely goggles. It’s dusty work! But you will have some beautiful hooves in your herd in no time!Soon I’m going to try this on my horses and maybe put my farrier out of a job! 😂
