Great addition. Can't wait for the next ones.
I recently re-read the original three books before reading this one, and I absolutely loved it! I couldn't put it down – it's the best one yet!If you're new to the world of Gelinor or don't know what to expect, you can read this book as a stand-alone. It takes place before the original three. The next two books are not out yet, but from what I gather, they will take place before this one.For players, this book is more focused on OSRS, but it's also a good read for RS3 fans. It delves into untold lore about things briefly mentioned in past quests, filling in gaps with fascinating content. The author really brings favorite characters to life and tells a tale that's worthy of the RS fandom.

Fantastic Story - Terrible Proofreading
Ok, first of all, the review saying this is more for OSRS players than RS3 players doesn’t know what they’re talking about in the slightest. Part of this story feeds directly into a questline that was reworked in RS3 (literally playing out what you see and learn in that quest pretty much word for word, like you literally watch these events in the RS3 quest as a flashback and then this book goes through them exactly as it is in game) that does not line up with the OSRS questline. The rest of this story could still apply to OSRS, but the story itself is absolutely geared towards the RS3 version of the game.Either way, whether you play OSRS, RS3, both, or neither, this was a fantastic story helping to explain and build up a lot of the lore in the game from before our character’s time. The attention to detail from the game and the little easter eggs tossed in for lore enthusiasts were amazing. The story was interesting and engaging throughout the entire book and kept you theorizing about what might happen next and why it would happen up until the end, even leaving some room for uncertainty if you figured out some of the key points earlier on.The story itself was very well written. However, I would really like to speak to whoever proofread this for gramatical errors, because they clearly need a different job. There were quite the number of sentences missing entire words, putting the character’s name and their pronouns next to each other in the sentence where the author clearly meant to only put one or the other (example: Ilmeshe/Ilme she instead of either Ilme or she, this was literally on the 2nd to last page of the book and is one of quite a few such examples), sentences with words added to them that didn’t belong or were double-typed, the occasional misspelling, etc. I know mistakes are made and every book will have some, but this one was FULL of them. If that doesn’t bother you, this is a fantastic book. If it does bother you, it’s still a fantastic book, but it absolutely needs to have those errors fixed. If you’re going to jump into writing and proofreading a story about a world many people are very passionate about, I feel every step of it, including fixing small gramatical errors, should be handled passionately as well, but this felt like either the proofreading was rushed or never happened to begin with. It clearly wasn’t a priority. Still, don’t let that persuade you from purchasing this, it’s still worth every penny.Still giving 5 stars because, although the gramatical errors did annoy me, the story was really that good, especially given it was packed into only 355 pages. I hope they release hardback versions of this entire series, I’d gladly buy them too (and hopefully they’d fix the gramatical errors while they’re at it).

Must-Have for Fans of RuneScape
An amazing expansion on the RuneScape universe and lore, and a fantastic read whether you're a long-time RuneScape player or have never heard of the game. Erin M. Adams brings the world of Gielinor to life with a cast of complicated characters and deep interpersonal relationships - it all felt exceptionally human, and my heart went out even to the antagonists of the tale. Top marks for making a fantasy setting feel grounded, believable, and *real*. I spent six hours straight reading the book - I simply couldn't put it down.

Fantastic novel, must read for any RuneScape Lore Fan!
Novel was fantastic, wasn't sure what to expect going in but it truly does a great job of filling in some of the blanks on RuneScape's history. A memorable cast of characters, a great plot, and truly feels like one of the great quests from RuneScape put into a novel format.A must read for any lore fan, but I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in the fantasy genre!

Amazing story and foundational to the Runescape setting
The Gift of Guthix is a gripping tale that weaves its way through pivotal moments in Runescape's history. The story it tells feels right at home in this world, and could just have easily been a series of quests in the game itself. It creates compelling characters out of notable figures previously only mentioned in passing, and uses them to add drama and humanity to events that until now were only explained like they were in a history textbook. There is so much here that adds richness to the setting. If you're looking to get stuck in the world of Runescape, buy this book. It will not disappoint.

A great addition to the game's lore since Betrayal At Falador.
This book was such a blast to read, it takes place within certain parts of the Game's history where we get to explore. It has done such a great job with adding more history into the game's story. I highly recommend it!

Love that RS is releasing more content through books. I’ve been using the cook book frequently and reading this book on my down time. Looking forward for the next release as well.
