Just got these scales today. I already had a set of Salter Electronic Scales but they didn't measure in half and quarter pounds - which these ones do. I wanted to follow my weight more preciesly. Luckily I had my yearly check up at the doctors this afernoon and was weighed on their calibrated scales. When I got home I then weighed myself on my old Salter Scales and then again on these new ones. I can cofirm that they are extremely accurate - giving me consistant results which I was able to check against the doctors calibrated set and my old set. I saw in one review that someone said they got a vastly different result when they used these scales on a carpet and then, a few moments later, on a solid floor. All I can say is - try that with any scales and the results will be different on different surfaces! The scales need to be on a solid floor, with all four feet stable - and don't move the scales between taking weight measurements - to do that is to just ask to get different results. So, as far as I can see, these are as accurate as you are going to get in a pair of home weighing scales. Good product at an excellent price.

Salter is a well-known brand of bathroom scales. This model is easy to use; just stand on them and they will tell you your weight (digital). There is a small button underneath the scales which switches between units (stone/lbs and kg)The glass material looks really nice, and is easy to clean.In fact, I've recently purchased a second set of scales for a family member as I was impressed with the price:quality ratio of this particular brand and model.The scales are made from glass so they look very stylish and are very durable.The price was fair as I paid £11.99 for them and I have seen the exact same scales in many shops and they were all pricing this model at the £20 Mark.

Clean design, includes a lithium coin cell and very reproducable over several measurements. To turn on the scale, simply step on it (it does take a reasonable weight to trigger it). If you briefly step on to wake it up, the scale will then auto-zero. Step back on and it will take a reading for a second or two before flashing the display and showing the final result. The display then turns off after about 10s.We tried it first on a cushioned tile "hard" floor in the kitchen and it was extremely accurate (when compared to a recent measurement at our GP surgery). However trying it out the box on even low pile carpet it gave a significantly lower reading of between 5-10kg. I was aware this would happen which is why I chose this scale as including carpet feet. I expected carpet feet to be included in the box (as in the description and with many Salter scales) but there weren't any and no mention on the box or instructions. This was my reason for chosing this scale so I was initially very disappointed and I've knocked a star off for this reason. However I eventually placed the scales on a solid square piece of wood (see photo) which has solved the measurement problem. The MDF base ensures the sensors don't sink into the carpet and it now works perfectly in the bedroom, so useful tip if you have the same problem. The wood I used was from an old piece of well known Swedish furniture, but I'm sure any solid piece of 10mm or thicker MDF will do the trick.Overall a no frills but well made and accurate scales. Doubt I'll need to make use of the 15 year warranty but it inspires confidence in the product. There's also a small switch on the underside next to the battery compartment if you want to switch units to stone/lbs. Eco friendly packaging (apart from the plastic bag to protect it in the box) so overall a good buy and well recommended, as long as you don't mind placing it on a hard surface. No carpet feet included!

These scales are well made and simple to use. The display is big enough to be easily visible and it is simple to change the unit of measurement. With a 15 year warranty they are well worth the money.

Thin scales that can be slid behind a cupboard. The display last longer so that you can read it when you step off. Therefore helpful with weighing suitcases for flights.

Its easy to use, works perfectly, slim line, sleek -Im aware that home scales can read different amounts dependent on room temps, the floor angles, battery life etc - so taking this into consideration in review - and remembering its always best with home scales to weigh oneself in same household spot for most accurate readings, practising this rule I have had accurate readings with these scales each time........I had been feeling disheartened recently with purchases on amazon. Prices don't seem to match quality anymore. And buying now days seems like a gamble. HOWEVER I do know this is obviously not all items or sellers... and here is a perfect example of in-fact the opposite ...the price was good ( not high at all ) and product was far better quality than expected, with no faults ... I wish I had read the reviews first - I've put the main flaw in the title of my review to warn others. With my previous scales, you could set the weight measurement at either stones or kilos and it would stay like that until reset. With these, I have to pick the scales up after each use and change the measurement to stones. Not at all convenient.
