I love this little gadget. Before I was using a pos yarn winder from HL & it sucked. this guy winds my yarn like magic, (fast, easy, & pretty) and i can do other things while it works. Id definitely buy again, i've had no mechanical issues so far. My only issue is that the cord doesn't have an outlet part, but no biggie I was expecting it tbh.

This works awesome
This winder is a power house. I love it! I have tried many of these (mainly crank style) I was so worried when I got this because I thought it would be like all the other maybe even worse. Here is what I love about it!It does make big cakes! You can slow it down to unravel any knots but it does great taking care of them for you. If it does get knotted then it auto stops so the motor doesn’t burn up. It keep the tension on the cake so it doesn’t come unraveled while you work. You do have to watch it just in case it does have an issue. I don’t really love that it is plug in with usb connection

The Pros and Cons
(*Cracks Knuckles*) I’ve been waiting to type this review until I’d put this machine through changes, and well we’re 15 skeins in and counting. I’m not sure why companies have decided that consumers only need a cord to power their devices, but this is another that annoyingly comes without a charging block. That aside, this machine works reasonably okay, is easy to store, and has saved me time in winding. It’s easy to assemble and secure to your table for use. There are settings to adjust how fast it winds the yarn. I have found that the machine needs to be on a pretty high setting if you want a skein that doesn’t eventually fall apart after winding (for worsted weight or heavier yarns). I’m not sure about its durability - as others have noted. This thing clicks and whirs in a way that makes you think it’s going to quit at any second. It has sufficiently met my needs, but it’ll be interesting to see how long it actually lasts. Finally, I don’t love that it slightly shaves the yarn because it needs to be passed through a couple of grooves and springs to secure it to the device. It’s a great start but needs some improvements to be a device that I recommend to all of my fellow knitters. For now, I’ll keep it because I hate hand winding yarn and have a number of skeins that need to be made into cakes. Once it dies, I’ll search for a different device.UPDATE: The seller contacted me and actually invited my feedback. They took into account my concerns about the slight yarn shaving caused by the affixing the yarn to the machine and suggested alternatives - including not using all of the springs. I so appreciate that they are reading comments and taking the feedback of their customers to heart. I added a star and give them an A+++ for customer service for this.

Amazing upgrade!
I've used a goodwill, semi broken spinner for years and I saw one tiktok of this E-spinner and I had to get it (it never occurred to me that one existed... Of course I spun all my new yarn right before buying this). She is amazing. You can do a full, normal skein of acrylic on this with plenty of space left. I haven't tried it on any of my wool blends, all I have right now are minis and chances are those won't cake up very well (they don't normally either). My only grip with this is the tension. The piece for tension is so loose, so the cakes end up being so big, fluffy, and they kind of unravel in weird spots. My suggesting is just getting a rubber band to increase pressure on the feeding yarn. You don't want too much or the machine thinks it's a jam. I found the perfect balance where my cakes come out tight and I don't really have to babysit the feeding yarn. I love that when a knot shows up, the machine recognizes there's too much tension and stops entirely so the motor doesn't burn. Most important, it's very pretty and purple and it's fun to look at :)

Works well
Easy to use, better winding than handcrank option, tidy cakes of yarn. While holding tension on the yarn during winding, I am wearing a nitrile glove to avoid chafing. Got a great price on lightning deal

It does the job, but slowly, easy to put together.
The media could not be loaded. When spinning your yarn, you have to stand right there the whole time, because the yarn gets tangled in the mechanism very easily. The outcome is very pretty though, time consuming as well.

Awesome and works fabulously!
This machine is absolutely mind blowing and amazing. I can’t recommend this gadget enough because of how much I love it. Sometimes these electric versions of and old classic can be a piece of crap and not even work half as good as the original version. Not this one. This one is so good. I want to gift one of these to every one of my crocheting friends!!

Quickly Tidy Up Yarn
This yarn winder is easy to set up and get your yarn bin tidy. I bought lots of yarn at the thrift shop and needed an efficient way to get the messy, undone skeins into a useable ball, but my hands were hurting from trying to wind so many of them myself. An electric winder sounded like a great option. Once I was able to untangle the mess of yarn, I laid it out, set up this yarn winder, and got started. It nicely twists around to make perfectly formed cakes and stops immediately if there is a jam. The machine seems to stop completely and doesn't sound or smell like it will seize. The winder is quiet too! It only took me a few minutes per cake/ball, and easily came off the rod.I did have some trouble with the tensioner as the spring is very light, but making sure the yarn is coming around the right front and through the notch helped from pulling the spring away (if facing the winder, the yarn string would be in your right hand, fed through the tensioner). One thing that I don't like is that the machine is so weak it will stop with a very light amount of tension so you can't take a newly bought skein, set it up on the winder, and let it form into a cake; you need to be right there, keeping up with the speed you set, ensuring that the yarn is consistently fed and not too tight. For $50, I was hoping that it would need less of my assistance, but overall I am satisfied with this yarn winder.
