It does what it says it does in the product description
Finally got my Cudy LT500 Outdoor cellular router installed. Here are some good and not so good things about it.First, the bad:* It is an older unit so it is only 4G LTE and even there is only, if I recall correctly, group 4. So it is not future proof and not super high speed.* It claims to be okay for outdoor use but seems to lack some weather proofing. I added O-rings to the antenna connectors and I used plastic electrical tape over the joint where the wire cover attaches to the body of the router.* It has an average set of controls for LAN setup.* The wall mount screw setup a bit substandard for mounting outside where there might be strong winds, etc. I ended up making a wall mount pole and used the pole mounting method which looks like it will hold up better.* The Ethernet cable that comes in the box is too short for almost any installation. And the cable was folded so tightly that any pretension to CAT5 or CAT6 operation is doubtful. Now the good:* It is very easy to setup.* With some web searching you can learn how to change the IMEI and some other settings to make this look more like a phone to your cellular provider so you and use a low cost phone plan for your data.* With its large external cellular antennas it gets over 20 dB better RSRP (signal power) than my cell phone in the same location. Being able to mount it outdoors in a better location also added about 10 dB of improved signal. RSRQ is also improved but not as much.* Its included power over Ethernet (PoE) supply is capable of powering the router over at least 50 feet of CAT6 cable.Overall, I am very glad I got this. It was the cheapest way I could find to get Internet at our mountain cabin. Often when I go cheap things don’t work as well as I hoped. This time it looks like it will work well enough for our needs.Edit: I notice some other reviews mentioning difficulties with using this on one of the big US cellphone companies. If, like me, you are using a SIM for a cheap virtual carrier that offers cheap data but that virtual carrier is using a major network's system you will probably have to configure the LT500 to look more like a phone than a router. That includes changing the IMEI to that of a phone. The only safe way I know to do that is to have the IMEI copied from an unlocked phone compatible with that major network. Unless you have an appropriate old phone in a drawer somewhere, the cheapest way I know to do that would be to purchase a new phone (the cheapest they have) from your cheap carrier of choice. You activate the SIM in the supplied cheap phone, then move the SIM to the LT500 and set the IMEI on the LT500 to that of the phone. Then put the phone away never to be used again. If you are going with the LT500 and plan on using a cheap virtual network you should price in the cost of this throw away phone that you will harvest the IMEI from.

WiFi password is password
Super easy to setup, works great. Only issue was the WiFi password which I found from other reviews is "password". Got 55M down and 36M up on my Mint card. Could watch 4k videos no problem and my Reolink camera worked with it no issues.

Be careful with the version needed
Currently, this device is only available for America. The version I needed was the Global one to be compatible with the networks available in my country.

entry level device with enterprise level control. limited to 4g speeds, great for rural solutions
obviously being 4G its limited by the technology as far as up down speeds, but pings and webpage loading is very snappy. AT&T is all I can Speak for. if this is for indoor use (window or wall mount) it covers 40' through multiple walls easily. I dont know bubble reception for Wi-Fi in an outdoor setting as its designed for. cell reception was about the same as a phone. setup is very easy, but I recommend setting it up directly hooked to a computer. Wi-Fi or through a router could be problematic. If it feels expensive it is, but you aren't buying a simple hotspot, you are buying a direct competitor to Ubiquity, these products form a mesh ecosystem, and have full control of the hardware like an enterprise level device for a fraction of the cost. I will say having played with the big names (cisco, ubiquity, etc.) that this is more simplistic of an interface, and doesn't necessarily offer the same enterprise level support, but it feels a lot more open to the home gamer than sticking strictly to building facilities level.

A stand up company
EDITED: I purchased to replace the hotspot I had. As soon as I put my SIM in, Cricket suspended my account. They claim it is a 3G item, and isn't compatible with their system.Cudy reached out to me to offer a refund. I refused because I changed my cell company to Pure Talk, and now it works beautifully! To the gentleman that gave a 1 star review, the password is "password". It, and the IMEI are written on the inside of the cover. The directions weren't clear about that.
