For honest, I don’t think these are just for wranglers. I think if you have a swing out tire carrier, and imagination, a measuring tape. and a good drill bit you could pretty much mount these anywhere the fit a rotopax. Everyone knows that when you’re off-road space is valuable. However, fuel and water can come in short supply in the great unknown, That’s why these nifty little guys are awesome! I really like the concept and I haven’t really seen them anywhere else although I haven’t looked that hard either. Really well-made and I think they’re a universal carrier if you got the Know how. Five stars for me, boys and girls can’t recommend them enough!

The first review I wrote wasn’t posted because it said it didn’t follow their guidelines. It had nothing negative in the review. I mentioned that it was a little difficult to put on the bracket because it doesn’t mention in install directions what to do in the case that your door hinge bolts are factory ones that have never been removed before. There is a previous review that has a link to a YouTube video that helps you. So I suggest you find that and read it because that is what helped us. They use Loctite at factory and the original bolts are basically painted over on new vehicles before they leave the factory. So you will break things if you do not do the install process correctly. We used a hairdryer to warm up the paint so we could remove the bolts instead of a heat gun. I will update if the brackets themselves don’t perform as expected. But so far I do like how they look on the vehicle and like that I can carry the gas cans this way. Hopefully they post this review…

In the interest of full disclosure the first thing I must mention is that I did not pay for this mount. I got it almost free under the Amazon Vine Program. The next thing I must admit is that I do love Rotopax equipment, I have installed gasoline, water and toolbox Rotopax containers on both sides, the rear, the top, in fact everywhere except the front of my Jeep. The last thing I feel I should disclose is that I am a regular customer of JOY TUTUS. They may be Chinese (not a fan) but their equipment is absolutely top notch and very well engineered. They may have a goofy name but so do I. Having said all that, do you think I can post an honest review? Absolutely. I post a lot of 5 star reviews because I receive a lot of 5 star products. I also post a lot of one star reviews because I also receive a lot of crap. Amazon does not care whether I post a 1 star or a 5 star review as long as it is my honest opinion. I always try my hardest to justify the number of stars I award.Let me begin. Most products on Amazon do not come with installation instructions. This product not only comes with instructions, it comes with excellent instructions. The diagrams are easy to follow and whoever wrote the instructions is a native speaker of English which is rarely the case. Thank you JOY TUTUS for not skimping on that little detail. Be aware that this mount does not come with the actual Rotopax mounting device, you will have to supply your own. That way, if you are a very trusting soul you can install a non-locking device or, if you are more like me, you can install a locking device.The only funny instruction is Step 2, “Remove the four factory torx bolts of the door hinge”.What? WHAT? Surely they actually installed one of these mounts themselves so they know what a silly instruction that is? Believe me, this is the most understated instruction I have ever seen. The first time I did this, I had to look it up on Google and also YouTube to find out how on Earth do you “Remove the four factory torx bolts of the door hinge.” All kinds of great advice, heat the bolts up with a torch flame, being careful not to damage the paint, a task easier said than done. Using an air hammer on a T50 bit which resulted in a broken T50 bit and 14 holes in the paint from the bit skittering across the door. In all I bent six T50 bits using a hammer and hammer/screwdriver tool, thank goodness for lifetime tool warranties. I finally achieved success by using an Impact T50, a 12” impact ½” extension and a BFH. Why does it take this much effort? The assembly line at Jeep uses 55 gallon barrels of maximum strength thread locker when they assemble these vehicles and you have to just beat it out.So after Step 2 you attach the actual mount. There is a thick soft pad which will stop any further damage to your paint and the actual mount should cover up the skittery broken T50 scars.Speaking of mounting it with the four new screws, I chose to replace them with four M8x1.25 x 35mm 12 point head chrome 10.9 bolts. That’s just me, the four T50’s they supply will work just fine. I do recommend liberally coating the threads with copper or aluminum anti-seize so if you ever have to remove them, you actually can in less than a weekend of hammering.The entire kit is well engineered and very nice to look at. It is what I have come to expect from JOY TUTUS.I highly recommend this kit!

This was a pretty good piece and seems to be holding up well, it includes the necessary pieces to install, but the installation is pretty tricky. I had to get this piece professionally installed because although the allen wrench included was a nice addition, it had no where near the ability to take the bolts off of the door hinge. The fitment as well is somewhat strange as it is seen that the piece tends to fold after being installed. Overall compared to others on the market I would say this is a good choice to go with.

This is a great way to add extra storage to the Jeep. I added this to the driver rear door to keep it closer to the fuel door. Fits rotex adapters perfectly.
