Ordered this UpJia Flarish Stainless Steel Banding Tool - Steel Banding Strapping Tool - 3/16" - 3/4" Metal Banding Tool for Tightening Bands - for my use in shipping repaired equipment and repaired parts back to customer on mostly pallets. I had a very old similar tool, but it finally rusted up and quit working and jaws got loose and badly worn. While recently looking for banding material, I saw this new tool and ordered it. This was exactly what I needed to replace my antique one. This tool is nice and made of heavy forged material (made to last). I like the ratchet style design works great!. It accepts up to 3/4" banding, and this upgraded tool has a "built in" cut off tool, all designed in to one tool. Finding and getting this was a game changer for me. I already have a crimping tool to lock the band when it's tightened by this tool. It makes strapping shipment on a pallet a piece of cake now. Happy with order

I do a lot of molding, and I use fiberglass strapping to hold mold segments together. While the fiberglass banding that I use is designed to be hand applied, I wanted to be able to get it tighter, so I thought I would give this tool a try. Excellent choice. This tool is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are excellent. This is a tough, durable tool. While the tool is designed to be used with steel banding, I use it with fiberglass banding and it works very well. The tool is easy to use and lets me get the banding around molds as tight as I want. It also has a built in cutter that trims the banding off. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

As with most tools like this that are cast iron and other metals from a non-name brand manufacturer quality over the long term is questionable....so far it functions smoothly and will update if issues arise. The casting is covered by a thick coat of paint and casting defects like pits are noticeable beneath the coating, the gears and other metals and ratcheting action seem ok and only after using for a period of time can it's durability be determined.

This is a strictly manual metal band tensioning tool. It does a superb job of tightening steel strapping. It is easy to use and is compact for storage. It is able to work on smaller items and in tighter places.

Compared to others I've found online, these are very reasonably priced and operate much like the competition. Not much to report, they ratchet nicely and do the job with solid or perforated metal bands. These are great to have to secure things to posts out in the country or for bundling wood together for transport. I would recommend these for anyone with the same application.
