I bought this product for a Christmas starter as a garnish. It arrived in a pouch that had not been secured to the level that a strong bash would not pop the lid and lead to leakage. The cold pack insert had died and gone warm ( fair point is that we are in Wales and it was a week or so before Christmas so postage may have been slow) The fact the jar's lid had popped had a big impact on spoilage and the lack of stability in the parcel could have been a factor in leakage and spoilage. However, the company did not cooperate politely, took a tone that I was trying to 'dupe them' out of a jar of 'caviar' £20 salmon roe not being in any sane person's range of dupe level anything, but took a lengthy chat with Amazon to get past them demanding a photo of said eggs several days after they arrived smelling high as anything and largely leaked into pouch. Bottom line, there are GOOD reviews here and that tells me this product has arrived safe and sound in some households. IF you order and it arrives open or leaking or smelling. Take a photo immediately and save it. Before you bin the mess. I didn't and although I did get a refund thanks to Amazon, the company was less than happy to accept any responsibility or possibility that their salmon eggs could have arrived semi open, leaking and warm. It's not your first thought aged 48 to immediately snap a picture of something that arrives soggy, smelly and leaky when in the midst of other preparations. I definitely encourage you to do this if you want a refund, not that this could not easily be staged by a chancer...but the company is that level of paranoid. At the bottom line Amazon itself will refund you if this goes South and they did me. This is not a great review, but I feel as though other people got a good product so they deserve a reasonable crack of the whip as well as me giving my experience.

Found it very gluey in texture, unfortunately. Flavour was ok, but I just couldn't get on with the slimy texture. Not for me sorry. I'll stick to real caviar in future.

I am in my seventies and have eaten salmon eggs for decades. I also recently tested other salmon eggs from UK suppliers. This one has absolutly the best taste, enjoyable to eat on and on.

loved it. shame it doesn't come in bigger sizes, that's only because I'm a little piggy wiggy. loved the little spoon which came with it
