Cooks well and looks nice

Bought this to replace an old steamer. I wanted large baskets and this fits the bill. It’s easy to use and cooks food well, although not as quickly as my old Tefal model which was actually less powerful than this one. My criticism is that the basket bases aren’t easy to fit in and one base is very lose which makes it more difficult to put together and clean.

Good product and service

After trying this machine today and putting vegetables in all 3 tiers the steam did not get past the first tier, food uncooked after 25mins totally useless, and to cap it all they are trying to charge me £2.79 to return it! I will be lodging a complaint to Amazon, not happy.

It worked. I have always used the Tefal Vitamin Plus steamer (my first one was a wedding present), mainly because it was the only one with a deep drip catcher. I tried one other brand but thanks to no appreciable drip reservoir I had water all over the worktop. When my third Tefal steamer bit the dust right before Christmas, I knew I would have to change models as these are no longer made. After much research and reading reviews I settled on the Geepas model thanks to its large capacity and a reasonably sized drip reservoir. I am pleased to say that the large capacity of this machine ensured that plenty of vegetables were cooked for my 8 person Christmas dinner and the reclaimed water was added to the gravy. The baskets are made of a different plastic than my previous model so I believe they will not shatter in the dishwasher and they all fit together nicely. It is necessary to ensure that the correct removable base is fitted in each basket as they are very slightly different sizes. These are numbered, but it is quite hard to see and they have to be stacked in the correct order as the smallest basket is the only one which fits securely on the base. The food cooked well and the unit is easy to clean. The only downside, which I note others have mentioned is that care needs to be taken when emptying the drip tray, either down the sink or into the gravy pan as there are no grips or handles there to facilitate lifting it out. So far I have allowed the water to cool slightly so that I don't scald my fingers when retrieving it. On the whole, I am very pleased with it. Being a week before Christmas I had to purchase in haste, but I definitely made the right choice.
