Sony HXR-NX80 4K HD NXCAM Camcorder

The media could not be loaded. I use this camera for my YouTube channel. It provides a crystal clear 4K image. It has exceptional battery life and more that enough mounting points for multiple microphones. I am more than glad I bought this product.

love the picture quality , we end up set it up as 1080p to save space ; not loosing nothing , picture remain great thanks . my best items from amazon so far thanks .......

I am youtuber with more than 70k subscribers and developing 2 more youtube channels.I've been using 2 Cannon DSLRs and Sony A6500 for shoot but need easier shoot camera.For rapid get up and go type of shoots and to get better audio with external mic, bought this one over AX700.Bought Rode NTG-2 at the same time.Got this camcorder yesterday with NTG-2 Rode mice. Picture quality is ok (compared to DSLR) but EXCELLENT for rapid moving and shooting actions.HOWEVER, the camcorder's external XLR external mic with 48v phantom power has significant white noise that I cannot use. I tried to find if other people have same complaint but found none, so this camcorder may be defected.I tested Rode NTG-2 with my Scarlet USB audio interface as well Zoom H5 audio recorder (to make sure it is not the microphone). NTG-2 gave very clean sounds on both Scarlet USB and Zoom H5 but significant white noise on NX80 camcorder phantom powered injection. (Cheap $200-300 camcorder giving that kind of sound quality would be ok but for more than $2000 prosumer product needs to be better than this.)So, I'm hoping this is a defected unit.Returned the unit today (within 24 hours) and requested for same unit replacement.Let's see how fast they arrive. I'm about to go 1 week travel shoot in 2 days. Hope they ship it as quickly as original item (which took only one day to arrive for Amazon prime free shipping).

First off; this is THE BEST "RUN & GUN" video camera, on the market! And trust me; I've tried MANY! (if you may disagree, with me; by all means PLEASE give me details...because I'm in the minority, of people, who actually LOVES TO BE PROVEN WRONG; especially when I can benefit from any further education/knowledge, etc.). Now.... this is to what my "BUT", in the above headline, pertains: THE LOW LIGHT CAPABILITY, OF THIS CAMERA, BY USING, SPECIFICALLY, THE "LOW LUX" SETTING, IS INSANELY GOOD!!! AND BEYOND THE "LOW LUX" BEING FANTASTIC, WHAT IMPRESSED ME, IS THAT IT CAN BE USED IN THE "INTELLIGENT AUTO" MODE!!!! Now; HERE'S the "BUT" that's very frustrating: This camera is a "smart cam" (like your phone is a "smart phone"), which means that it has a mind of its own, and therefore sometimes THINKS it's smartly doing something GOOD, when it's really doing something BAD. Even more specific is the "low lux" setting, as well as some others, whereby sometimes the "low lux" setting selection will be greyed out, and unable to use, and there is truly no ryme or reason for this, because other times, with the cam mode not being changed, the low lux feature will NOT be greyed out, and therefore can be used. To possibly explain this, a better way, here's an example: I was shooting an event, and using the low lux setting, and loving every minute of my experience, but after a short break, after turning the cam back on (NOT CHANGING ANYTHING....), I noticed that the low lux feature was now OFF. So; I figured "no problem, maybe 'OFF' is the default setting or whatever", so I went to re-select it as 'ON' and that's when I found it greyed out. WORSE YET; for the LIFE of me; I could NOT get the low lux setting back!!!!!!! I tried EVERYTHING....switching to manual...auto...and back to intelligent auto, and NOTHING! Right now, at this moment, I'm going to re-try...since I'm not under any "at event pressure", and will attempt to see what's what... Maybe I should have done that, BEFORE wtiting all of this, but I then figured it's probably a good idea to write it, since this negative occurance may have happened to anyone else, and maybe they (i.e. YOU; if such applies to you) would like to PLEASE EDUCATE ME?!?!?!?!? I'M DYING FOR SOME ASSISTANCE, ON THIS, BECASUE AGAIN; I TRULY DO LOVE THIS CAMERA! THE PICTURE QUALITY IS OVER THE TOP, AND THE CAM'S OVERALL FEATURES ARE EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN WANTING! (yea; I'd love to be able to shoot 4K at 60fps, which cannot be done, with this cam, but THAT is far outweighed by the ability to shoot UHD at 120fps!!! Now THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!

It took me a long time to figure out which was the most recent 4K cameras available but these are it. Overall it's a great camera, no problems yet!
