Hyundai 2 x 20V (40V) Cordless Lawn Scarifier, Aerator & Dethatcher Rake 380mm 4Ah Li-Ion Batteries Brushless, 3 Year Warranty

Hyundai HY2196 cordless scarifier/aerator and dethatcher. I had to send the first one back because it would not switch off, so I had to leave it in the garden for the batteries to finish running down before I could move it to the shed and repackage it for return to the vendor. Positives: The replacement Hyundai HY2196 scarifier/aerator and dethatcher works brilliantly and is sturdy and lightweight. I love the fact that the scarifier blades and the dethatching tines are on separate rollers which are easy to swap over, you just undo a screw and flip back the plastic clip at one end of the roller and ease the roller out and then pop the other roller in. An allen key is provided for this job, and clips onto the handle. The scarifier is brilliant at ripping up moss and weeds, but I only use it on the highest setting. The lower height settings would probably completely plough the ground up. I then use the dethatcher - which must only be used on the highest height setting - to clear up any moss/debris that might have been left behind by the scarifier. The run time for the two batteries is supposed to be about 40 minutes. I would say this is an accurate estimate. The handle angle can be adjusted between three height settings, so would suit short and tall users, and can be folded down when not in use. Finally, I like the three year Warranty. Negatives: I bought a spare pair of batteries and they are expensive.

Works well, scarifier and rake attachments one small problem is the pickup of grass and moss into the collection bin sometimes blocked up, but it still did a good job. Batteries fully charged was enough to do 3 lawns 4mts X 8mts,before needing to charge. One would recommend you remove the key and Batteries before putting hands anywhere near the collection bin and blades.

This is an excellent machine. Good that it comes with two batteries. Have been using it all day, very strong motor and last about 25 minutes between charges - about 2 hours to charge but you could use it sooner. I previously had a cable scarifier and this is wider and stronger and much less hassle.

Great machine. Tried it this last couple of days as weather good and it did a great job. Lawn looking better already as it removed a good deal if moss. Very pleased with the cordless scarifier well made and easy to assemble and use.

I would not recommend this product.The actual run time is only fifteen minutes using the raker attachment on its highest, presumably it will be even shorter run time if the scarifier , which digs deeper into the grass/ soil was used. My grass had been cut to its lowest . It took two hours to recharge, my lawn is 17 x 17 meters and takes 30 minutes to scarify with an electro one.The description says 40 mins running on slow speed and fifteen mins on high speed, THERE IS NO HIGH OR SLOW SPEED and there is NO speed adjustments shown in the instructions. I had expected a lot lot better from Hyundai.I AM WAITING FOR A TOTAL REFUND AND RETURN FROM EITHER AMAZON OR HYUNDAI.

Does an excellent job scarifying my lawn , but the batteries are not quite up to completing my lawn , without a recharge.

Easy to assemble and fold up for storage.Lightweight and easy to push, runs away a bit but easy to control when you get the hang of it.

I've had a few lawn rakes, scarifiers, over the years some cheap some expensive, all extremely heavy. I was expecting this to be heavy too. It's not! It's really light weight and so easy to use it's a pleasure. It comes with a lawn rake attachment and a scarifier attachment. Two batteries are included with charger and last long enough to do both my lawns. It's easy to assemble and was very well packed so no damage during delivery. Because it so easy I went a bit overboard and nearly scalped my lawn completely. It's so lightweight it will easily hang on the garage wall and folds down to nearly nothing. The batteries plug into the top with a cover to protect them during usage, it also has a activation/ignition key which has to be inserted when usingit. Overall I'm very happy with this Hyundai battery rake and well worth the money. Recommended.
