Affordable Space Saving Camping Knife
Purchased item for cooking outdoors. I currently use a full length kitchen knife and I was looking for something that took up less space. The Magnum is a great knife for this use.The blade is sharp and long enough for my needs while camping. It washed well and has held an edge for my two camping trips with it.I would not use this blade for normal cutting around the camp site. The blade is thin and really only for cutting up food.A few have mentioned locking problems, but I am not experiencing this issue. The blade folds out smoothly and locks firmly.I use an fine oil for the folding joint to reduce wear and tear while opening and closing the knife.I am happy with my purchase and for the price it meets all my expectations.Pros: Affordable, sharp, solid build, cutsCons: None yet.

It’s not a Boker+ knife but will do what I need it to do!
If you’re not aware, there’s the Boker Magnum line (budget line of knives) and the Boker+ knives (higher quality, higher end, more expensive). This particular knife met my expectations. Those that complained about the blade not locking merely need to flick the blade open so the lock engages. The blade is plenty sharp and will cut food and most of what I need it for. Its quality is relative to the price you pay. It’ll do the job. It’s sizable but compact enough to stick in a backpack, pouch, or even your pocket. The blade isn’t as thick or sturdy like most EDC knives but it’s not intended to hack tree limbs or for butchering a cow. It’ll cut most foods and lighter items though. I’d consider it a light duty knife. So, don’t get your hopes up and consider what you’re using it for.

No Flaws and No problems - It works perfect just as I received it.
I just received the knife and of course looked for all the flaws mentioned in other reviews - But i had none. i do not have to make any modifications for it to work perfectly for me. It opened smoothly and locked into place with no wiggle. It did not over extend and i am curious how it even could given the metal stop pin. It has brass washers, not plastic. The blade is sharp and cuts wonderfully. This will easily become my go-to traveling kitchen knife, both for personal use for prep of vegetables and fruit, as well as when I visit the houses of my friends and relatives (who have horrible knives. - yes you know who you are!), and am preparing a dish for a holiday or dinner. It is indeed a large knife, not a pocket knife, but it will fit in a man's pocket. Great value in my opinion.

Good value, but not really what I'd call a nakiri.
My first impressions are that the knife is well made with good lockup, as I would expect from Boker. I'm surprised at how thin the blade is. It's sharp and slicer, but it's not what I expected of a nakiri. As a result, it is not well balanced. There just is not enough steel to provide the weight needed to let the blade do the work for me when processing harder veggies like turnips and rudabegas. So, not really a nakiri in my opinion. And the handle ergonomics are not great. I don't have any problem with the large handle size, but the edges are a bit sharp in my hand. That can be easily fixed with a little sandpaper or even a grey scotch pad, so that's not really an issue for me either. What is an issue, however, is the jumping on the liner lock. Wow, it really tears my hand up when I hold the knife naturally. There is a nice finger choil that helps, but I don't choke up on the blade when chopping veggies, so the ergonomics are a bit of a fail for how I like to use a nakiri. I don't mind the use of 420A for the applications I had in mind for this knife. I like the steel for its stainless properties, toughness and ease of sharpening. I will be using it to cut relatively soft material (veggies) for the most part, so I think edge retention will be fine. So, there is a lot of versatility built into this knife with the finger choil and slicey blade, and as such will be a decent all around camp knife for food prep. I am a little disappointed that it is not a better nakiri though. All that said, it's $20, and that's great value. The well built knife with steel liners, positive lock, silky wood scales and a nice, slicey blade made by a trusted company like Boker is an easy recommendation at this price point. If I can figure out a way to keep the sharp jimping from tearing up my hand and round the handle edges, this knife should serve me as well as knives that sell for double the price, but it's just not a nakiri.

Good folding kitchen knife
This is a great knife to use for food prep while out camping. This is a great slicer, with a thin blade and full-flat grind. Came with a decent edge out of the box. The steel should be corrosion resistant, and the design permits a decent amount of airflow while folded to help keep it dry. I don't expect great edge retention since the steel is on the soft side.My particular knife locks up great and I've had no trouble with the action from basic use.The wood-paneled handle feels decently comfortable in the hand. It is thicker and softer than another nearly identical folding knife handle I own from a different brand. I wouldn't be surprised if they are made in the same factory, and simply screw different panels on the side of the handle. These wood panels are better.
