Worked great, amazing cost, annoying time gate to unlock the Roms.
This seems like a great phone.Pros.Inexpensive and powerful, compatible with my carrier (Mint Mobile).Cons.This is specific to me I think, but I bought this with the plan of throwing a custom rom on it. Xioami allows for device unlocks so you can install your own OS, but they time gate it, likely for security.I was unable to complete what I needed before the return window ended, and since I wasn't 100% sure I would like the end result I sent it back.If I were doing this in the future I believe I'd be fine since my google account will have been associated with Xiaomi for long enough to do the rom implementation I needed.I also ran into some trouble with the operating system telling me my sim wasn't detected frequently, even though I could still use the phone, and it often had trouble connecting to Xioami's servers, presumably in China, so I often got "unable to check for updates, try again later" or "unable to register sim, try again later"It's possible that's also due to the age of my Xioami account but I can't be sure.
