FANTASTIC PRODUCT
We have 6 of this type of modular drill/driver sets. They were all made by Makita and we have used them for many years. However, for some reason we couldn't nor can we find anymore Makita's anywhere. About a month ago I saw an add for the Montana brand set. It's exactly the same as the one that Makita was offering. Since we have 8-10 tool boxes in use at any one time, I was and am so glad Montana has "picked up the slack." This is a wonderful product and here's why:If you have a power drill and want to install screws into wood, you know you should usually drill a pilot hole first. And since the screw hole should be counterbored first, you just put the 'Retourner' (which is the part containing the drill and the bit) in the 'Percer' (which is the part that clamps into the drill motor). Then drill the hole, turn the Retourner around and screw in the screw. It's so easy and quick. And the entire set in in one tool! This is a 'no-brainer' of a tool and definitely something to have in your toolbox.Of course, nothing is ever perfect. So here's what I would say to you and Montana:1. Since a lot of screw heads today have a hex head instead of a Phillips head, put a hex head bit in there. Just need one as they're all the same size.2. In the set, there is only one Retourner. There should be two of them and the reason is because when it comes time to change bits, one has to unscrew the bit from the Retourner and insert a different one. A waste of time and see below. Fortunately the Makita parts (if you have them) fit perfectly into the Montana product (but only for the 'stubby version' which is the Montana style).3. Regarding #2 above, the little allen bolt that holds the screw head in place is a little fragile. So don't change it too often or over tighten it.4. The drill bit should only be used to drill the pilot hole. Don't be tempted to use it for other things like drilling into steel and cast iron. You will dull the drill which is designed for use in this tool only.Again, this is one great tool. We use them on site every day and so glad Montana is offering them for sale!

It seems to work excellent
I had the original craftsman version of this particular tool for many years, and finally lost most of it and was quite pleased to be able to find this which is a near identical piece.I like the fact that it came with three spare drillbits from when the inevitable happens and you end up snapping one. I’ve used it quite a bit since I’ve got it and it makes a nice counter sink and a very good pilot hole.

Must have Drill Flip Drive!
I had been looking for this drill and flip for weeks and oddly enough I stumbled across this one and then noticed SEVERAL brands were available. I even found my old Dewalt drill flip drive, which I thought they stopped making. I had a Dewalt drill flip drive, but after 10 years of use it lost its ability to hold the drill/driver in place.. ! I had never heard of this brand before, but it was the identical product I had with Dewalt. So after ordering it, the quality was much better than I expected. I thought it was a fake company just saying they made products in America, but they actually sell quality tools! Seriously, the build quality is top notch and I can see me using this for another 10years or more! They definitely put hard work and great minds together to make this. Plus it’s made in the USA! So it’s going to be quality made. The ONLY issue, that could be considered a slight issue, is the case. I believe the case for holding all the pieces could be made better. The main hinge concerns me, bc idk how long it will last. I loved this product though. I ended up 3D printing a better case though.

Pretty nifty
Working great 1 month of use. That said, the aluminum construction I doubt will last more than a couple years of moderate-heavy use.But then again it was relatively cheap. I feel like they could just sink another $5-10 into making the tool of more durable metal and it would be very popular. Still it works great now so I’ll leave it a 5 star.

Not the most durable.
Great concept, great design, only issue was that it did not hold up to high torque during fence installation. Bit holder appeared to “weld” itself together.

Very handy, even has it's own built in allen wrench to change bits
It works well, and is easy to use. I like being able to flip it over without undoing the chuck to drive phillips head screws with the same drill, so you don't have to have a second drill/driver.

Quality is an issue.
The Montana Brand MB-63123 10-Piece Modular Drill & Drive Set boasts a "Made in USA" label, which is a definite plus for many consumers. The modular design offers versatility, allowing for quick changes between different bits and attachments. However, my experience was somewhat mixed. While the concept is excellent, the execution falls short in a couple of key areas. The Allen key, unfortunately, showed signs of stripping after only moderate use, which is a significant concern for the longevity of the set. Furthermore, the quick-release chuck experienced jamming issues on three separate occasions, requiring significant force to disengage the bits. This interrupted workflow and raised concerns about potential damage to the tool.Despite these issues, the set does offer a decent selection of bits for common tasks. The build quality, aside from the aforementioned problems, feels reasonably robust. Therefore, I'd give this set a 3 out of 5 stars. While the "Made in USA" aspect and modular design are appealing, the stripping Allen key and unreliable quick-release mechanism are significant drawbacks that detract from the overall user experience. I would hesitate to recommend this set without addressing these quality control concerns.
