Sonically flawless, visually beautiful
Seeing negative reviews regarding the sound of this edition?? - In my opinion you either have a "duff" or check your HI Fi set up!I have the UK 73 press (Harvest – 1E 064 o 05249), European SACD (582 1362), European CD 2011 (50999 028955 2 9) 2016 UK Press (5099902987613) and 2023 50th press (5054197141478) - You can never have enough "Dark side"!We don't need to discuss the music it's "The Dark side of the moon" - enough said!Beautifully packaged, quality reproduction of original Album cover with a new slipcase and quality poster unique to this edition. 2 x quality poly line black inner bags. The LPs look really nice - LP labels on playable side and unique labels for this edition on the UV side - quality!I have a mid priced Marantz/ audio technica system and this 2 x Vinyl, LP, Single Sided, 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition (PFR50UVLP) not only looks beautiful (a piece of art, in fact), sounds on par with my 2023 Black 50th Anniversary edition. This edition was created for playing and not sticking in a picture frame so emphasis has been made toward the sonic performance of the discs.Seeing lots of reviews talking about sound quality! My copy is (as mentioned) at least on par with my 2023 50th edition (which is this edition press), actually is quieter (where it should be!) - sounds stunning and phenomenal! (My Brother's copy also sounds stunning on his system (mid priced!), so does two of my friend's copies on their (mid priced) systems!).I truly believe if your copy looks nothing but beautiful and sounds ANYTHING BUT stunning - you have a "duff" - send it back and get a perfect copy! because this edition should be (and is) visually and more important than anything, sonically flawless.

It's very nice to have, but it’s an album to be posed with, not played
OK, let me qualify my review title. This is a very nice artifact, a thing to be looked at and enjoyed, possibly even a work of art, not a pair of one-side LPs to be played. For that purpose I have TDSOTM in multiple formats - standard LP, Immersion box set (with Blu-ray), CD, cassette and even SACD - so this will go nicely with my The Division Bell box set in the 'special vinyl' - even, yes, I'm afraid to say, 'gimmick' - category. Now this is either a marketing tool to give the fans something special, or a blatant cash grab, and if the latter then they've now got mine, and I won't be asking for it back - although £64.99 is not cheap, and that’s why it loses a star; the sheer expense! I don't know what the manufacturing costs and profit margin are for this object d'art, but having taken it apart - the outer sleeve slides vertically to reveal a standard TDSOTM sleeve with blue text added inside (lyrics side) stating Pink Floyd Records, as do the playing side labels of the discs - and looked at it all approvingly, before putting it back together again (yes, I did unfold the poster - briefly) in its shrink wrap with the info sticker, I'm glad - as a fan/collector - to have had (only just) the disposable cash to buy it.Oh, there are no standard TDSOTM pyramids and band posters in this edition, just the new poster and the discs in their plastic-lined sleeves (so someone's been bothered about looking after the discs then; makes a change from horrible, even vicious, cardboard sleeves that some LPs (naming no names) come in), and that tight-fitting outer sleeve. Finally, this release proves the title of this album is officially THE Dark Side Of The Moon - for now anyway...

DSOTM 5 🌟
Just when you've collected all the collectable copies, they then go and bring out another one.I'm probably no different to other collectors out there with several copies of this vinyl, so either the management or the record company decides to bring this out at an extortionate price, knowing full well that daft tw4ts like myself and probably thousands more are going to buy it whatever the price may be set at.I'm not gonna mention about the fantastic songs on the album, as anyone who has heard it, obviously knows how epic they are.So.....Is it worth it, the answer is NO, to a collector YES.Do I need another copy, probably not, but these can only increase in value......hopefully 🙏
