I am using these for ceiling vents. I had to make holes for screws to mount in ceilings, but that was easy. The vents look great, they are made of plastic, but to be a air tight as they are, they need to be.As I mentioned, they are being used as ceiling vents. I can close the vent and no, I mean no air comes through. I can open it and have normal downward air flow, I can close it, and pull the vent down and have a directional vent with full air flow, and if I open the originally downward facing vent, I get bi-directional half-air flow. It really is a smart way to manipulate air flow in a home, especially one with a basement, that doesn't need to be as cooling the summer, yet needs more heat in the winter.I would buy again if needed.

These worked so well for our upstairs bedrooms! They help direct the air so it is blowing towards our beds, keeping us so much cooler. They are a heavy plastic, which did not bother me because the vents are right by the wall and we never step on them. I wish we would have found these years ago!!

These vents are great for directing the air flow as needed. Over all quality is good but it can be a pain to slide the vent diverter at times. I find if they get stepped on the diverter gets jammed up and needs tweaked slightly to slide correctly. They have not broke at all just get bound up at times.

These are very cool. I like them a lot because they direct warm air into the room instead of up. I know that historically heat registers were put underneath the windows because of condensation during the winter months. When there were single pane windows, a lot of condensation occurred with the warm air of the house, hitting the windows with the cold air from outside. I don't think that's really the case anymore. I really want the warm air going into the room. This does a great job of it. Now, it has all kinds of settings, so you can have the standard airflow or the into the room flow, or you can close everything off. They're really quite versatile.

I love the idea of these and have purchased them multiple times, but the quality sucks. While they stay in place better than the magnetic alternatives, they also break easily. Wish they made sturdier ones in metal.

I have a Cane Corso. It's an Italian Mastiff. He drools a lot. I had metal vents that he would lumber over to when the AC came on. His drool would literally rust the vents. These vents don't rust and can support his 160+ lb when he stands on it to cool off.Thanks
