Looks and sound they got it all
I bought the KEF LSX II LT and KEF Kube 10b. They are being used in a small home office.I am really impressed with most aspects of the speakers.Pros-Easy to setup.-Easy to add the sub, with recommended settings.-Overall sound is beautiful.-So cool looking, at least for me.-Price, I chose these over the KEF LSX II and LS50 just because of price.Cons-The app or remote seemed to be the only way to adjust the volume when controlling music from a streaming service. However you control the music from within the streaming service app.-I am putting this as a con but for me it was actually a pro. The highs seem to be lacking in a way that I enjoy. For example I am huge Pink Floyd fan and the clocks at the start of Time and the voice in the Great gig in the sky were not as harsh as normal. It didn't feel like anything was lacking but that might just be because I didn't miss what was missing.I am not an audiophile, the last set of speakers I had that sounded pretty good were some Cerwin Vega at15s 35 years ago. I do have Sony xm5 buds and over ear, beats and other decent headphones. I can say that the KEF speakers brought back a love of music that I haven't had in a long time. There is just something about being able to feel the music that I love.I think the sub was a must for me. When I turn it off even at low volumes the difference is noticeable to me. I have been listening with friends and family as well and they do not notice it as much.

Great speakers but…
Really stunning speakers but a few things to know. I tried jazz, rock, folk and orchestral music on my new KEF LSX II LT. All were played at different volumes from very moderate to quite loud. My room is on the larger size with a vaulted ceiling. The speakers are on stands and are placed about 6ft apart and 12ft from the listener. Findings: Firstly, recording quality mattered the most. In really good recordings, the bass, midrange and high bands were well balanced and a pleasure to listen to. Those recordings though were rare. Secondly, these speakers need some real volume to perform. The onboard amp will give it to you without complaint or distortion. When these speakers enjoyed a good recording at fairly high volume they were an absolute joy. Not at all at low volume with a mediocre recording. I was surprised how many recordings fit the criteria of mediocre. Lastly, the LSX II LT’s don’t generally provide really well defined bass. Plan on using a separate subwoofer. Most drums lack punch and bass is generally less than impressive. Again, there are some really notable exceptions (e.g., Talking Heads’ Burning Down the House, Weather Report’s Birdman, almost anything by Dream Theater), but all require some throttle before the speakers start to perform, at least as room speakers as opposed to desktop. Bottom Line: These are very competent speakers given the right music at a suitable volume but they’re a little too fussy about the right conditions. As much as I like them, I’d prefer something more forgiving, whatever that is.

Best for SMALL ROOM/NEARFIELD
Although I use these as living room speakers, they sound the best when I'm close up to them. It took about a 6+ months of almost daily listening to break them in. HIGHLY suggest adding a sub to the set up. The app is fun playing around with the settings. Very CONVENIENT that I can stream and control music from my phone to the speakers directly. Good speakers at the price point. Tip: Dont forget to treat your room with some accoustic panels if you need it.

Requires internet and location services
Sounds fine,Can not function when not connected to the internet. No purely wired or bluetooth modeRequires use of terrifyingly unsecure app+constant location services to use what should be a plug and play device.Reject and boycott all internet of things/ always online nonsense.

Expected Sound Quality - Nits on the small details
As expected from KEF at this price range, the audio is top notch and that certainly will leave me with 5 stars and being happy. They work well as near-field desktop speakers which is how I am using them. That said, there are a number of small nitpicks that would not have changed my purchase but could have been better:- The graphite color is nothing like the rendered images from the product description. The color on the listing is a more warm gray and on the darker side. In reality the speakers are a much more neutral/cool gray.- On the tweeter there is a yellow ring that that is visible.- When using USB, upon waking up the speaker it sets the volume to 100% for a split-second before going back to the original set sound. Considering its audio that wakes the speaker up, its a little annoying.- Comes only with the power and the connecting USB C cable. No optical, no hdmi, no usb, etc. Not the end of the world and at this price point people are probably going to bring their own cables, but was interesting.- You must the app to set the speakers up, so they aren't really plug and play. For my use case I don't really care to use any of the wireless features.
