No issues at all, needed this as I bought a soundbar which has optical connection only and use a gaming monitor with VRR which has 3.5mm out only for audio.Xbox series x has no optical out and when using a HDMI audio extractor you would lose the ability to use VRR (Variable refresh rate) which is what i experienced and couldn't get used to the downgrade.With this item i am now able to connect the xbox directly to the monitor with a HDMI cable to keep VRR and I use the linkfor adapter to connect from the 3.5mm out of the monitor to the optical in on soundbar so really happy about that as if you've tried gaming with VRR and without there is a noticeable difference with framerate drops and stuttering.Easy to set up, sound quality is unaffected and cable length is good.

great item works well, finally able to convert the old analogue projector to input to the new digital sound bar, I used a jack extender to reach also from the projector, and it all connected fine and worked well. Bought many but this is the only one that worked and is specifically to convert ANALOGUE to DIGITAL.

Stereo (only!) 3.5mm to optical output
Neat little device that samples the stereo signal coming into the 3.5mm audio jack to convert it to the optical output that's a good way to send audio to an assortment of more or less expensive kit.The good side of that is that it will take audio from anything that you can plug that 3.5mm jack into. That's a LOT of stuff.The not so good side of this is that it means it will only do stereo, and not Dolby 5.1 or DTS or anything else that your more or less expensive kit could do, even if the source could provide that.
