This beard oil smells and feel fantastic on my beard. Absorbs quickly but leaves a nice shiny that last quite a while. Does not leave my face feeling oily like others I've used in the past.

I've only been using beard care products since early this year. My dear spouse bought me a nice set, as a gift, and I've enjoyed using the balm and oil that came with it. I ran out of the beard oil and wanted to try a new brand. I wanted to find a product that was produced domestically, and was less than $15 - $20 for a bottle. I came across this beard oil, from OakCityBeardCo, and it looked like something I might try. I liked that it was from a neighboring State (NC), and the scent contained the word Bourbon (something I've begun to appreciate here in Tennessee).I got the Sandlewood Bourbon and Mahogany scent. I wasn't to sure about what Mahogany would smell like, but I was okay with Sandlewood (at least from what I can recall of the scent), and with Bourbon. I had read a few of the reviews, which were not all that kind, in regard to the scent. But the sense of smell is such a personal thing that I thought it might not be all that bad. Well, that application of the oil to your beard will be a punch to the face for your olfactory senses. Wow! Strong stuff, and I have to admit I was concerned it would reek. But strangely enough, my wife had a hard time smelling it five minutes after application (even though I was still smelling it). Urgh. I don't know what is causing the oil to smell as unpleasant as it does, but it seems I am the only one affected by it. And if there is a Bourbon aroma, among the other two scents, I couldn't tell.Now, the good news for the wearer is that it does seem to dissipate after an hour or so. My beard remains quite soft through most of the day too. The ingredients are really quite nice and I like the pump bottle better than the eye-dropper I was used to.So this is a tough one. The oil itself does a great job and is priced right. And, as I mentioned, smell being a personal call this might be something that is just hitting me wrong. I don't like this scent, but would consider trying one of the others that they offer.I hope my review has been of some assistance to you. Regards.

Bought for my husband for Christmas, he loves the smell and how it leaves his beard! The bottle wasn’t as shown with the pump. It’s the ones that you have to shake out. But it smell soooo good!

I have a cologne with a similar scent (same description) and this is fantastic. I get compliments on how I smell when I only wear this oil.I apply it after a shower, dab my beard with a towel so it’s damp, apply the oil and blow dry my beard. Because of the ingredients it greatly improved my dry skin underneath. I’m from NC and now live in OK and the heat kills my skin and this oil saves it.I ordered and was proud to see it’s made in Raleigh, NC which — shout out to you guys for makin a solid product! Represent!
