Shengmilo s600 electric bike
After some research and being new to electric bikes I picked the s600 because it has a dual motor and reasonable range and a Samsung battery also it stated on Amazon web site that it could deal with a 40 degree slope (but I might of thought again if I knew that the manufacturers website has downloadable manuals) which suited me as living in wales your not far away from a hill.(Top tip)If your thinking of buying this bike please first visit manufacturers website and digest the manual before placing an order as it recommends no more than a 15 degree hill to prevent motor overheat which is quite a difference from amazons stated ability.I bought this bike at extra cost as the lead time of 2-3 days was better than manufacturers site although in the end it was for nothing as that was extended to between 9-19 days which you cannot plan for especially as you need someone at home if nothing else but to help the delivery drivers who are expected to unload what is approx 40 kg of bike and box on their own😳.Fortunately delivery was earlier than expected by fed ex and they kept me up to date turning out to be 5 days in the end and luckily falling on my day off phew.Dont expect to be riding this bike the first day you have it because between waiting for delivery ,assembly and charging the battery for at least 7/8 hrs for a full charge the days gone.First ride-Having read the manual i downloaded( as one does not come with bike) I did the safety checks and off I went the route I picked really tested the bike lots of hill over moorland but all on road after trialing all the functions the power assist is very good and helped me up the hills quite easy I tried the full throttle which had a slight lag of a second but loads of tork some hills were quite steep and I found no overheating from battery or wheel motor. After about 18 km I did have battery anxiety as I had gone from 5 bars of charge to 3 and was only half way so i kept it on a low assist which was plenty.I found the shimano gears very easy to use and responsive although the lowest gear can only really be used on the flat a slight hill and I found myself getting out of saddle but only without assist to preserve battery. I did sense some sticking of the motor when I knocked off power assist almost like the brakes were slightly on but I found if I increased my speed this eased fairly quickly. The display is bright and clear and easy to use but I found the seat kept dropping throughout ride, but I cured this by releasing the quick release and tightening the thumb screw opposite as much as I could before reapplying quick release. All in all I had a really fun experience on a sturdy bike but for longer journeys at some point I’m going to need a spare battery for peace of mind ( cheaper on shengmilo website)most of the rest of info you can pick up from manual.Ride2-I covered 35km split between 0 assist and power assist 1 (pas1) for several steep hills which is the lowest assist level and it handled these with easy I didn’t leave the saddle.on my return I still had 3 bars of charge left out of a full battery of 5 bars.An enjoyable ride.
