WOW! This is a neat tool to have around to test winde speed during weather anomolies
Have been wanting ot measure winds around us when storms move in. You can see the dramatic way the winds change up on this ridge - this tool measures the speed and tells me which direction the wind is coming from. This comes in handy when reporting to the local weather station what the weather is like during challenges.

Works well enough.
The media could not be loaded. It worked straight away and seems to be a solid unit. The wire jacket is a bit thin. I would have preferred some strain relief at the end of the handle or something, but then it wouldn't fit in the case. I have no idea how accurate it is or isn't as I don't have test equipment.

Pretty neat anemometer
This is a tool that helps you detect air flow - it's useful if you are trying to make sure AC is working or if you are trying to improve air flow in your house. It is pretty straight forward to use although there are a lot of modes and stuff that take a bit more time to figure out how to use. I'm not sure if it's accurate but the results are at least repeatable (meaning it's not just making up numbers). I was using this to check the impact of opening up windows and putting window fans there - it does help a lot since you can tell how much air flow has increased or decreased. Overall a nice useful tool.

It works but..
This Bonvoisin Anemometer Handheld Air Flow Velocity Meter CFM Wind Speed Gauges works, kinda. The issue I have is the min/average/max doesn't seem to work properly it seems to display random values. All the other feature work properly though. Maybe i got a defective one, maybe I'm not understanding the interface? The numbers dance around, I'd expect them to display the min and max etc. It measures the windspeed fine though. This is too expensive to not function properly. Maybe I don't understand how it works, but I do expect min to show the minimum speed reached and max to show the max speed reached, not dancing numbers. I would buy something else.

A diversion, but not something to rely on
An anemometer is supposed to tell you air speed. In this device, air movement turns a propeller, and propeller speed informs a report of air speed. Not included is any way to calibrate operation. No information is provided about calibration done at the factory, either. If you want a hazy feeling for air speed, this device will give it to you. It's bulky and expensive for such a loose opinion, but you'll get its opinion - just not an opinion you can rely upon.An anemometer is typically not used for fun - it is used for engineering or verification of function. Such measurements have to be accurate, but this anemometer has no statement of accuracy, and no way to calibrate it for accuracy. Here's what the manufacturer says in this product's manual (which is a three-panel fold-out) about how trustworthy the measurements are:"Specific Declarations:"Our company shall hold no any responsibility resulting from using output from this product as an direct or indirect evidence."If the manufacturer won't stand behind measurements reported by this device, I guess it falls on you to take responsibility. How are you going to do that, especially when you can't calibrate its operation? How will you responsibly use this anemometer to get accurate results? Remember, there is no information on how, or even if, this anemometer can be calibrated.Size and two-piece (instead of all-in-one) design are clumsy for use, too. I feel a bit bad for the people who worked so hard to make a nice looking handheld unit, who put the mechanicals together for the propeller on its extended wand, and who market and ship this product. There's the carrying case-maker, too, who hopes for a large production run on a successful product. But why would anyone buy this? Forgotten in the whole chain of activity behind this product is... to make this anemometer that gives measurements that can be relied upon! You can't rely on the readings from this anemometer - the manufacturer tells you so. Taking readings from this anemometer is useless for any purpose other than to kill time. Going through this review may not felt like a lot of fun, but I hope you got satisfaction as you made your way through its contents.

handy
This airflow meter is handy to have on hand to see if the A/C is working properly.

Great Anemometer with Quick, Repeatable Readings!
Admittedly, I've never used any sort of windspeed meter before. This one being my first, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've been pleasantly surprised. This anemometer works very well and gives quick, repeatable results every time in my experience so far.The build quality seems pretty good, on par with a mid-level brand. I wouldn't expect any problems using this out in the field or for normal applications. For a homeowner or other lighter user, I have no longevity concerns with this product. The screen is easily readable, with good contrast. It's well laid out, providing a lot of information on each screen. I love the telescoping wand on the fan sensor and the included carrying case—super handy addition. The case is a nice hard plastic with foam inlay that will surely keep the device safe from any blunt impact. This is a welcomed inclusion, as many products like this come with only fabric drawstring bags that offer no protection. My only real complaint so far is the buttons—they are made of cheap, soft rubber. At this price point, they could have used a better option here, but that's a small complaint given what this device does. All in all, I do recommend this anemometer to any casual user, homeowner, or professional who isn't using it in the most crucial roles. If you're doing something ultra-serious, I'd probably weigh my options, but for anything else, this one is a great option!
