Organic, but not an extract+uses mycelium rather than the fruiting body
This Cordyceps supplement comes well packaged in an airtight ziplock type thick plastic bag. XPRS Nutra is the family owned business that sells this supplement. They have on their label that Cordyceps are mostly found in China, India, and Nepal, yet I did not see it specified on their label where their product is grown. The supplement itself contains 500mg per capsule of Cordyceps powder made from the mycelium (roots). (The recommended serving on the package is 2 capsules/1000mg).From what I gather from research online, the ideal part of the fungi to use is the fruiting body, whereas the mycelium generally intermingles with the growing medium. It is much faster to grow and harvest mycelium, so it is more cost effective, yet that may not be the most potent portion to use. Also, this supplement is not made from an extract, as would be ideal. For an unextracted powder, I'm seeing recommended doses online that are double the serving size given on this package. That being said, for the price and quantity provided, you could adjust your dose to the optimal level for your personal goals and still end up with a good value, if you get results from this. Due to autoimmune issues and mrdications for which cordyceps are contraindicated, I'm waiting on approval of my doctor to take these. I was not aware of these contraindications when I ordered the Cordyceps supplement, and at the time, was not on any medications that triggered concerns, yet when my situation changed, I did further research.I have found notable benefits from other XPRS Nutra fungi products (non-extracts) which gives me confidence that benefits could be attained from this supplement too. Yet it is important to do your research on each product and check in with one's doctors if there are concerns or possible contraindications or potential undesirable interactions between supplements and health conditions or medications.

Inconsistent product in capsule.
I am returning these. The capsules have varying amount of mushroom in them. Most are less than 1/2 full. Some only a 1/4 full and a couple with practically no product in the capsule. I should post a photo. Ridiculous. Not even subtle.

modern fungi cultivation techniques ames this vegan caspule of Cordyceps mycellum available
In case you don’t know what Cordyceps sinensis is, there is a wonderful 2017 scientific paper published online. Look up online this title “Fungus-larva relation in the formation of Cordyceps sinensis as revealed by stable carbon isotope analysis” this explains how in the Tibetan plateau, there is a fungi in the grasses and soils, that infects a the lava of a “ghost Moth.” The fungus consumes the body of the lava. In traditional Chinese medicine, this fungal fruiting body ( the exoskeleton of the lava filled with mycelium) is compounded into medicines and added to food dishes. The health benefits of this fungus in Traditional Chinese Medicine is well documented. This 2017 paper describes how Cordyceps has health promoting functions in regards to the Kidney, Liver, and immune system.I’ve consumed Cordyceps sinensis before in the traditional moth lava/fungus form. I did find the appearance of the dried up lava exoskeleton (containing the mycelium) off-putting. This capsule is listed as containing mycelium and is Vegan friendly, therefore modern techniques of fungus cultivation must be used to grow and then harvest the mycelium of Cordyceps sinensis. This is a much more palatable way to consume this powerful natural medicine. Some Chinese herbs needed to be compounded with other herbs to avoid side effects. Cordyceps is recommended for lay use in cooking specific health promoting dishes, thus I think this fungus is not something that must be compounded with other herbs before ingesting. That again means this is a very convenient way to consume and add Cordyceps to your daily supplements. The 90 day supply come vacuum packed with 500mg of Cordyceps mycelium in each capsule. I would be very curious as to what a licensed Traditional Chinese Herbalist thinks about the purity and potency of this form of Cordyceps.

no test or certification
One of my first XPRS Nutra supplements and looking into the company, I find that they started in 2019 and have a warehouse in Utah by Prina Enterprises (based in CA and UT). The package shows an expiration date of 7/2026, but I can't find any labels or certification of GMP from their product page, website, or package label. They also don't provide any certificate of analysis. They also don't state where they get their ingredients from... I know they sell a lot of stand alone capsules, but for a new supplement company...I have a lot of concerns that they don't provide any verified product testing or good manufacturing practices that's required by FDA.
